Original Review:

Low performance as announced and expected, even on high end systems.
The devs were transparent, which is nice I think.
I'm a big fan of the series and I hope for the best with upcoming patches.
Currently the game is just not ready. Wait for it to be fixed or live with the current state: low FPS, lags, visual glitches etc.
I'm leaving a bad review because even though this was being announced transparently (thanks) it's still ridiculous in what a bad state games are being released these days.
Will update my review in the future (if things improve).

It's good :)
After adjusting a view settings it runs well enough and I'm having fun with it.
Sure, there are problems but I'm certain these will be taken care of in the future.

This game obviously competes with Overcooked but there is a key difference in play style.
While overcooked is a goofy game with random events and a lot of unrealistic events that introduce chaos, PlateUp! tries to introduce more strategy with kitchen upgrades, a tech tree and unlockables.

PlateUp! doesn't throw random disasters at you. Progression is made after each loss with new items, recipes and stuff added to your kitchen. Every failure is understandable and gives you room to optimize your strategy. This doesn't mean it's less fun though. In (local) coop this game is a blast and still comes with the usual kitchen chaos of the genre.

For me it's way better then Overcooked and also has a higher replayability.
Give it a try, it's way worth the small price!

Ember knights is fast roguelike with very precise controls, awesome coop and all in all a very polished product
The general play style and the games mechanics focus on timing. Be it because dodging attacks is more important than hitting enemies or because every skill or attack also has a second "perfect" variant that you can only pull off if you hold and release the attacks designated button in the perfect moment.

The games learning curve is reasonable. Everything feels very replicable. Hit boxes are precise. Damage is understandable.
There are nice unlocks like new skills and perks. The story is cute and doesn't take itself too serious, which is perfectly fine.
(Local) coop is a blast!
It's impressive how polished the game already is. I played about 13 hours at the time of the review and I encountered to major flaws or bugs.

There are only three minor concerns:
1. Please make the game save after unlocking new stuff at the ember tree of the NPCs. I tend to spend my earned ember and relic orbs to see what I have unlocked after a completed run, but those purchases are not saved. I have to redo them when I quit and restart later.
2. Will there be a bigger variation of relics (perks) and skills on release? I hope so to increase the amount of variation / builds and thus replayability. More weapons would of course also be nice, but the existing ones are already very good.
3. Will the game also be released to other platforms? I can totally see a Switch or Playstation port.
