Great complexity and realism without overwhelming the player early on. The fact that you can play any country in the world is pretty cool too...I like playing Brazil, Turkey, or Argentina and seeing if I can help Germany turn the tide against the allies when I join the war late. I also like the fact that it's not a WWII strategy but rather a geopolitical strategy set during that time and you can totally flip a government, for example...Turn USA communist and take of the world or turn Germany democratic and carve up the Soviet Union with the rest of the world.
