TLDR:

This game takes patience, if you want to rack up kills for your K:D then you will not enjoy this game. But, if you like squad tactics, unforgiving scenarios, intense battles for a few square meters of land. If you like crawling for 3 minutes through foliage ...only to die to friendly fire, spawn, crawl again. Get Shot. Try a different path. Get shot. Try again, this time with the cover a smoke grenade, and take out an enemy squad, capture the point, and turn the tide of the game. This game is for you. There's a few UI/UX issues regarding GUI/HUD learning curve. Also a few graphical bugs which can be attributed to Unreal Engine.

PROS
  • box free aim
  • stabilization mechanics are really cool. You get weapon stability anytime your aim down the sights when you put your barrel near a solid surface.
  • sound is amazing, your neighbors will feel the artillery fire
  • if you have the patience, you'll eventually experience some amazingly intense moments
  • weapons feel superb, shots feel solid
  • not arcadey FPS at all, patience based FPS.

CONS
  • hard to tell where the bullet landed
  • muzzle flashes are harder to distinguish compared to RO2
  • UI sucks, HUD in general is confusing as f*ck
  • Steep learning curve, Not FPS noob friendly at all
  • weird graphical issues upon launch

MISC:
  • Needs more city maps!
  • some cool options are turned off by default, go through the settings.
  • Voice communication is essential to have efficient battles, you will get rolled if your team isn't talking.

Tips:
  • Enable "RO2 style menu backgrounds" to use a less RAM intensive menu.
  • Enable box free aim in HUD options. This means your cross-hair (your muzzle) moves inside the edges of your FOV, until you reach the edge of the screen. IMO it's more realistic than having a fixed cross-hair and it more effective when leaning around corners.
  • Change "team voice channel" to your default VOIP button.
  • if you're tripping balls it's because you enabled Woodstock post-processing Mode
  • use the map, you can reposition it by pressing T and scrolling
  • Some people have complained of graphical issues with textures looking like butt; Try enabling advanced video settings and X on allowing more than 2gb of texture RAM
  • Don't be afraid to ask questions in game, the community may seem hard headed, but they help others out when it comes to getting enjoyment out of the game.
  • Don't be an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and practice flying on a live server... those things are not easy to land.

My critique for the devs:
  • more icons when picking maps, newbies dont know what they're picking.
  • The game needs more people / servers. As it is, it's too expensive to consider this game as a gift, because I don't know if my friends will get over the learning curve. If the game was $5, or if there was some 4 pack deal (4 for $20) i'd definitely buy this game as a gift for others because I would want a squad mate I know.
  • please consider adding more graphical elements or redesigning the menus, its really confusing for players new to the series.

Foreword: I am writing this review of 2 SE for those PAST my level, who know coding and designing games. --For those new to game development--, I wanted to give this a THUMBS DOWN , but since theres no middle rating and I want to be fair to the developers I'll have to include this note here.

Pros:
+ quick interface
+ great for getting an idea how to organize your project if youre mainly a coder
+ good for writers
+ good for artists
+ good for project management

Cons:
- subscription model is WAY too pricy for those starting out
- wish it had better tutorials
- the price...

Summary:

This is a great program for those who need help plotting a story, organizing entities, and in general for those who know how to program and would like a design document 'CMS of sorts'. Love how fast the interface responds, something crucial in any design program. I wouldn't recommend it for those starting out as it's basically a fancy file organizer. But those already with an established project could benefit greatly. There is a one time purchase, which seemed to be the original purchase method, but it takes some fumbling with their website to find, something like $60 for one time payment. Eitherway this is a program I expect to be coming back to, as they just released V3.

My suggestion:
make one license a $20 ~ $25 purchase
each additional user (on a project) would be a commercial license subscription $5~$6
put up a simple project lesson example on youtube (a free one would be great exposure)

Basically a random tile generator, it plays like a proof-of-concept project; like other reviews say, there's no progression.
Really cool concept with a lot of potential to be a good puzzle game, shame it's packaged so poorly. Hope the developer flushes out the game's features.
