Early Access Review
By far my favorite VR game, and I still haven't come close to fully digging into it (most of my play time is in Take & Hold). The physics, handling, VR interactions, and sound of the guns has honestly ruined nearly all other shooters for me - everything else just feels fake and awkward (VR and flat screen). The balance of highly detailed and realistic feeling guns with a surreal and funny setting makes the whole thing surprisingly comfortable and fun, even when Take & Hold becomes a real challenge.

There is serious consideration taken to making sure control schemes and other VR settings such as movement methods are as customizable and universal as possible (for me personally, the arm-swinger locomotion method in this game is the most comfortable movement system I have found in any VR game). The game is regularly updated with bug fixes and quality of life changes, new guns, and entire new game modes/maps. While I spend the majority of my time with Take & Hold, I very much enjoyed the 2020 winter holiday map which is a huge outdoor map with a scavenger hunt aspect, an amusing backstory with hilariously voiceacted audio logs, and a satisfying mixture of sniping and mid range combat.

This is 100% a game I consider a must try for anyone who has access to VR. There is a learning curve to the controls and guns, so it isn't the same kind of universal appear as something like Beat Saber, but it is absolutely an example of what VR is capable of.

Like most things with VR and streaming/game recording (and especially VR streaming/recording), there is a lot of tinkering required, and there will likely be things that break along the way. However, if you take the time to look, there is information out there on how to get things working. Better yet, the dev's are very responsive and incredibly helpful if you reach out to them on their Discord. Once you do get things working, the value add this brings to VR content is massive. Between reducing the jittery look of straight VR capture by using a fixed or smoothed view, to making it possible to brand content by making yourself (directly or in avatar form) a part of the actual gameplay, this really is something that you should at least consider if you have any interest in making VR content.

A very beautiful and simplistic game with a fittingly peaceful soundtrack. About 20 minutes or slightly longer to complete everything, but very worth while. Much care was taken to make the entire experience feel fluid and relaxing, and the entire experience both felt natural and was just challenging enough to be satisfying when completed. All of the mechanics are discovered upon reasonable experimentation when placed in a slightly new situation, without the need for any external direction or unnecessary feedback. Letting the player explore as much as they want at any point adds to an overal sense of freedom, which leads to a greater sense of personal accomplishment upon reaching the next step.
