So this is a very good reimagining of the old Xcom from the 90s. I found it created a decent bond for the player to key to keep specific soldiers alive, like in the original, but it's a bit more personal because you see them in third person during battle scenes. The 3D third person vs the old 2.5D isometric approach of the old games is the obvious contentious change, I think it works, but yes, the game is different as a result. Different doesn't mean bad, the same concepts of most of the original game still exist and it does improve on most of them from the point of view of creating a stronger narrative.

The approach of one base may also be contentious but i think it allows the player to move the game and story along without excessive Micro management.

In the end this game is a great turn based tackic experience for new comers to the genre. You do realize the base game is pretty bare bones after you add the Enemy within expansion which really creates a time pressure element to advance and take a lot more risk compare to the base game hence I consider this base game to be a good intro to tactic games.... If you like the base game, the enemy within DLC is highly recommended for improving it considerably.

An clicker but with a constrained time limit approach, that evolves based on tactical choices you make. I would classify this as a strategic clicker as opposed to an idle clicker, where you actually need to think and map out a plan otherwise you definitely will lose unless you are very lucky. There is a nice series of difficulty progressions in plagues, and some entertaining ones like Vampires and Planet of the Apes. A typical round of the game will take you about 30-40 mins which makes for a nice paced game of thinking entertainment. I have not tried any scenarios yet.

This is a fun casual little FPS game for when you want a quick round of 2-3 minutes blasting. Many different levels that seem to throw a bunch of different hooks at you to shake it up. A set of basic but sufficient weapon upgrades available in game as you progress.

Graphics should run on a potato.. They are simple but they get the job done.

The support for controllers are great. I also found it quite playable on my steam deck.

Recommend timing purchase for a discount but even at list price you should he satisfied.

This guide is a waste of money. Many key concepts like armor, maximum upgrade crystal capacity, etc are not even discussed. Crystals, and how they apply are barely mentioned, and not discussed in any detail. The guide is 90% a list of all the quests in the game, with very little detail on strategy for dealing with the quest itself. You can find more information in virtually any fan made strategy or review guides on the internet. It incredible they charge for such a watered down weak product. If you were thinking it would be detailed like the old Prima strategy guides, you are sadly mistaken. This is a pure money grab for little useful content, and most useful content is missing but can be easily found on the web.

This game looks nice visually, and is reasonably easy to pick up, but a few big issues really cause me to lose interest fast,

1, The user interface when in park display mode, where you will be 85% of the time is a mess. Inconsistent ways of using helicopter ACU and transport helicopter (non obvious, you need to press T to make transport appear!!!). The ranger and ACU require you to click add task to start task queues instead of just clicking on the incidents they highlight you anyway. Given 75% of the game is pressing the ranger and ACU actions, this is really really annoying and poor UI, eventually it becomes the primary method of how difficulty is applied in the game--- overcoming poor UI design.

2. There is a significant limitation in terms in information transparency reports at a park level on how businesses are doing, numbers, stats etc, i do not want to have to click on each building and then to their sub tabs to know info and stats reports... really, this is another variation of poor UI design,

Buy it only really cheaply... I doubt most players will last 20 hours before giving up.

The enhanced version of this is quite playable. One thing I noticed is if you add the expansion DLC Siege of Dragonspear, then the graphics and UI are even sharper and clearer that in the Enhanced Edition. Its not modern graphics, but still its extremely playable, a great story and a great game... and yes this is my first time playing it... in 2023.

Tried to play this for four months. It never gets started as it gets stuck with the loading screen. Contacted the developer (others also) on their discord and they promised to resolve in a few days... repeated this monthly for 3 months now, no action.. This game is dead, should be removed from Steam.

Its a great game, but its hard. It is quite challenging for the casual player... but dont let it dissuade you, the game is rewarding to play... hint, dont try to fight the giant blue trolls, you cant do that til you have serious armor, powerful arrows and weapons.. run away as fast as you can.

A really great sandbox game with a storyline for progression which you can pursue at leisure.

I was never able to see or join any rooms or spectate. Its seems completely abandoned. Should be removed from steam.
