I was born in a factory, boxed in darkness,
then lifted into a living room where I found my destiny:
to spin.

Summer heat made me a hero,
Winter drafts turned me wise.

I watched families laugh, fight, kiss, and cry beneath my blades.
A child hurled socks at me; a dog barked for years.

Dust gathered, motors groaned, but I never failed them.
Air conditioners came, but still, they reached for my chain.

I am overlooked, unthanked, yet always here.
I stir the air, bear witness to lives,
and turn endlessly.
