As an FPS it's lacking, as an interactive story with shooting it's doing great job.
Don't expect a refined and snappy shooter. Instead you'll find and interesting but (unfortunately) short story.
The visuals and design are good and walking through the world is beautiful.
Considering the length and fairly basic gameplay i'd recommend to get it on a sale, i think from a consumers perspective 20€ is a bit steep for this.

Looking forward to Industria 2!
I hope they work in more interesting gameplay mechanics, puzzles and a more balanced difficulty.

Amazing game, but...

Due the recent PSN situation,i'm changing my review to negative.
This review will remain negative as long as banned regions are re-enabled.

PSN doesn't support my country and i have to lie about it in order to play the game (break Sony's terms of service) or lose access to the game.

I shouldn't be afraid to lose access to the product i payed full price for just because Sony doesn't let me legally have an account.

Either allow access or refund the product.

TL:DR
The game is boring.
Don't waste your time, don't waste your money. Play Baldurs Gate 3 if you want an engaging rpg.

The game has some great moments but these are super rare.
The game is an illusion, you're not exploring a vast space or universe but rather just a one small limited fishbowl at a time, behind numerous loading screens and menu clicks.

Space flight is basic and lacks any nuance (just point the ship towards enemy). There is no atmospheric flight. Instead the SPACE flight is designed to feel like atmospheric flight which limits the freedom of the player. Power distribution system is pointless because you can easily just upgrade your ship, skills or crew for the space combat and not engage with it. Decorating your ship is pointless, everytime you change a module, like upgrading the engines, all the items (notebooks, plants etc) get transferred to ship inventory. No point to place cool items around your ship and make it your home.

FPS combat is almost the same as fallout 4. No unique weapons with interesting effects and everything is stat based. There is rarely an interesting combo or playstyle with guns. Melee combat is a joke. Spacemagic powers are just skyrim shouts and are extremely boring to acquire. I hate the glitter collecting in temples beyond words.

Quests and characters can have some great moments and interesting storylines. Though overall the writing is bland, meaningless and doesn't make the world believable.

I'm a sucker for space games but this is an utter dissapointment, i'm GENUINELY hurt, heartbroken and the minuscule amount of trust i had for Bethesda is gone.

There's a quest that illustrates this games shortcomings well.
A CEO of a shipbuilding company asks you to help his design team because they can't decide on a ship design. Perfect quest for a game with a shipbuilder, i thought. You go to the factory and need to talk to the annoying 5 person design team. Everyone has a different idea and you have to pick which one is good or bad. Then you have to do a super basic bounty and a passenger contract for "market research". Talk again with the dislikeable people and you're done. As a reward i got the ship but i couldn't fly it because my pilot skill was too low.
It's unfathomable how a game with shipbuilder doesn't use it in a quest where designing a ship is the main point. That whole mission could've been an email, but instead it was the player fast traveling and picking options in a meaningless dialogue.

There's so many parts of the game that work against eachother.
1000 planets to explore but all of it is boring procedural slop.
Huge universe to fly and run around but it's segmented with egregious amount of loading screens.
Lot of stuff to loot and sell but vendor credits, player and ship inventory are super limited.
Numerous food items with various effects but all of them are ridiculously underpowered.
Many characters to engage with but most of them are annoying and unlikeable.
Weapons with many different stats and legendary variants but enemy AI is so stupid that it doesn't matter (applies for space combat aswell).

Just a massive dissapointment on all levels.

This "love letter to the fans" is the bare minimum of a Battlefield game.
Battle pass is greedy and pointless.
Amount of weapons to unlock and progress towards is laughably small.
Jets and helicopters are underpowered and flying is arcadey with no nuance.
Many maps lack cover or have too much of it.
Spawns are often in enemy sightlines.

The game feels like it has all the pieces for a proper battlefield game but doesn't know how to stick them together.
I have played all battlefield games and dlc since bf1942 and this is the most dissapointed i've ever been.

With the launch of bf2042 it has become obvious that execs at DICE and EA don't care about providing a fun game.
They want to make a storefront disguised as a game and call it "games as a service"

Spend your time and money elsewhere, this is not it.

Downloaded the steam version just to say why i quit OW2.

Core gameplay and lore are great but this game does NOT want you to have a good time and only wants your money.
Greed in its purest form.
