"Nice old-school boss-fighting action.

All but a couple of the 20-or-so bosses are well balanced with fun & varied movesets, the art & music perfectly capture the 30s feel and look/sound great while doing so, and there's a decent variety of weapon/powerup combinations you'll be able to try out to find the best solution to any fight.

Regarding the bosses, the only two I didn't particularly enjoy were ones that used pseudo-randomly generated scrolling platforms. The platforms did a good job of always making sure you had a new place to jump to, but they didn't do the best job of making sure said places weren't going to have attacks currently crossing them, leading to some situations of nigh-unavoidable damage.

My only other tiny complaints are that the tele-dodge seems to be significantly better than the other powerups for all but very specific situations, and that there's only 6 run-&-gun style levels as compared to 20 boss fights.
