this game is rather hard, I suck at it enough I had to drop down to narrative mode which makes it much harder to lose. Even on noob mode it can still stress you out.

I enjoyed the story of this at least, do recommend checking it out even if you have to play it in noob mode(you also get no achievements in this mode)

Game bugged out during the tutorial for the claw preventing progress, upon doing research this is because its controller support is apparently absolute garbage and this is only playable with mouse/keyboard.

also the irritating beeping like sound was enough to make me uninstall and refuse to give it another chance.

I played this kinda for the lulz, I was only going to give it 30 minutes or so.
my first play session was 96 minutes.

this game is criminally good, I haven't even looked at what is going on in the holo house yet.

... have to update, I am officially addicted.

in the current state of the game I cannot recommend buying this, maybe if you get it for free or pennies its an acceptable playthrough, my standards are higher than this though.

will reconsider giving this game another chance if the dev gives the game some more polish, from what little I played it felt like the game was still in Alpha.

while there isn't a ton of gameplay in this, it is a great story with great visuals and music.

Highly recommend.
this game is extremely beautiful in every way, combat is also enjoyable.
I will eventually get around to collecting all the lore to make this another 100% title in my collection.

I will replay this in the future, especially if I end up getting a VR headset.

I feel I have played enough to make a fair assessment of this.
Please note this review is based off a single player experience, it may be more enjoyable with multiple players.

at first I was having fun, then I got to the encampment and recruited my companion... this is where I discovered companion AI is absolutely terrible, the first mission I had was to push the explosive cart back to the enemy camp, I was a warrior so I had recruited a bow user... my all so helpful companion then camped the wrong side of the cart and was actively betraying the pantless cause... to make any progress I had to do whatever I had to do to kill my companion by leading enemies to them... Oh lets not ignore that your all so helpful companion AI will pick up/use a health potion off the ground when at full life instead of letting you get it.

then there is the sudden end of levels, multiple times I was running in circles to pick up loot to get money and suddenly the mission was finished, its fine if this happens... if that money loot is automatically looted but it isn't.

combat is clunky, again as a warrior one of the first things I did was go oh, a combo as a level up point? sounds great, that combo has felt like an active detriment to combat situations, it knocks enemies on the ground and you can't hit them while they are on the ground with hits, possible this may be more useful later on in the game but early it wasn't being helpful to me, sure I could respec it... but the cost at low levels is way to high to consider. You also cannot actively block, if you hold your shield up you cannot move, I would understand if I was carrying a massive hunk of metal that needs both hands and is planted in the ground.... but its a simple basic shield.

I will give another class a shot before I uninstall and to see if things feel better, hopefully it was just the warrior that is bringing down my hope of finishing this game.

Visually this game is a 8/10, audio is a 7/10, enjoyment a 9/10

Hades is definitely the better game for the similar styles(so if you are picking between the two I would pick up Hades over this), but this game has its own things that make it great and worth picking up on a sale at least, I for one am enjoying the variety of the weapons... in Hades I only like 2 of the weapons unless I can get a very specific upgrade near the start, I have barely scratched the surface of this game and have already found 4 weapons I am enjoying and still have many to try.

I see some complain about the tutorial... but I would have never learned about parrys in this game, as I do in every game I learn what every button does... I thought it was a grab of some sort at first... the tutorial is also very short in comparison to some games.
