My setup:
R9 295x2
i5 4670k @ 4ghz
16gb DDR3
2x240GB SSD RAID0
3xU2711 monitors bezel corrected Eyefinity @ 8024x1440 resolution

I play the game in full screen at "best performance" preset but with shadow map at high. It's perfectly playable (don't have exact FPS but its probably 45-50), but there are some odd graphical irregularities here and there--texture pop, shadow pop, light flickering. However, major props here to the devs for making this an Eyefinity-friendly title out of the "box." The UI and menus scales perfectly in every way and do so automatically.

The game is, to me, tremendously fun despite the graphical hiccups. It will definitely will benefit from further graphics optimizations that they say they are working on, and maybe some driver updates from AMD.

The experience is, imo, also best with friends. It's still fun solo when you have the story to drive you forward, but if you get side tracked and just want to wreck zombie-face for awhile, that can get a bit less exciting when you don't have someone to run around with. It's also helpful to have that buddy to revive you when you get in over your head (which is very easy to to!) since this is quite a deceptively difficult game. You do not want to screw around with the virals and volatiles! Take them seriously!

I will say I deeply enjoy the parkour though I'm not very experienced with parkour games to compare it to others. I will have to knock it some with it's difficulty in trying to scale downwards from high places. It's tedious and not very fun sometimes. The jump-look-and-grab works a lot better going up than down, in other words.

The only other way I can describe this game is it's kinda like Borderlands 2 meets a zombie apocalypse. You will definitely get your click-loot-click-loot-click-loot fix easily and often.

I'll leave it at that for now. Full disclosure, I only played about an hour of Dead Island and hated it. This game trumps it in every way for me so far, especially in the way it feels to play. 2 Thumbs up!
