The game's reward system has been slowly eroded over 10 years, and it's at the point where, even while spending money, rewards are awful. An incredibly addicting game-play loop with quite possibly the most toxic developer of a game this size.

Good for with friends and competitavely. Despite being a remaster of a nearly 10-year-old game, the devs are still updating, balancing, and releasing DLC.

Easily the best storytelling team in gaming. Old school RPG mechanics with a modern interface and graphics. Easily the best RPG of the year.

Automatron is a small yet substantial DLC for last year’s Fallout 4. It adds the ability to create and customize robot companions along with a short line of quests.

The story component takes around 4-5 hours (I do play slowly, exploring every corner of every room). It is on par with other amazing quests in Fallout. The story introduces the Mechanist, a post-apocalyptic super villain, who commands an army of robots. The Mechanist fits in perfectly with the large spread of intriguing characters already existent in the Fallout universe.

The journey is a memorable one. Bethesda nailed the environmental storytelling with terminal entries and audio logs that flesh out characters that do not even appear in the flesh. There are a few new voiced characters, one being the Mechanist and another, Ada, a follower.

Ada is the new robotic companion. She is introduced as a modified mix between an Assaultron and a Protectron. Her unique personality revolves around her self-awareness as a robot with emotions. Her conflictions are explored through dialogue as the Sole Survivor’s affinity with her grows on the adventure to defeat the Mechanist. She stands as a great addition to the roster of companions in Fallout 4.

Robobrains make a return and they are portrayed much grittier than ever. Hints of their creation left on terminal entries and audio logs uses dark humor to illustrate the twisted minds of those before the war and question the boundaries between science and morals. The side narrative is almost more interesting than the pursuit of the Mechanist itself.

The Rust Devils are also brand new to the commonwealth. Though they are mostly just a new twist on raiders. Their monstrous robotic creations are enough to change up combat in an interesting new style.

A few new weapons and armor pieces are added including a usable Mr. Handy saw, an Assaultron’s head, Assaultron blade, Assaultron helmet, an Eyebot helmet, Sentry bot helmet, and robot armor.

The most substantial and advertised feature of Automatron is the robot creation and customization. The robot workbench is added to the settlement building. It works exactly like a weapon workbench except it works with robots in the current settlement. Robotic followers can also be modified at the workbench, including the brand new follower Ada.

The creation options are diverse and plentiful. Different kinds of robots can be mixed and matched sans the Eyebot (i.e. Protectron and Mr. Handy). Armor and weapon option range from factory standard to rugged and highly augmented. It all works almost identically as weapon and armor customization. Each option has a different look and stats. There is around the same amount of customization as weapons yet since all the pieces look different, unlike weapon customization where some pieces have the same appearance, there is a larger sense of personalization.

The whole robot creation is great yet they dropped the ball on a lot of opportunities they didn't take. There are very few voices to choose from. What about a Mr. Handy with a British accent or a Yes Man like Protectron? Also, the only applicable paints are single color options; there are no paint jobs like the hot rod ones for power armor. And on top of all of that, custom robots only have one personality. These robots are going to get dull if they all say the same things and act the same way. The different armor and weapons can only get them so far because in the end it is personality that drives companionship and thus memorability.

Built robots act just like the followers in the base game. They can be put to use in a settlement whether it farming or guarding a settlement (they can not be venders though). Otherwise, they can follow around the Sole Survivor as a companion.

Automatron feels like more Fallout 4. It is solid with some very interesting and enjoyable parts. It creates another great side to an already amazing game. It’s faults lie in missed opportunity yet what is there is enjoyable and worthwhile.

XCOM: Enemy Uknown isn't afraid to make you cry. As the head of the XCOM program, the worlds defence against any alien threats, you find yourself managing the whole organization. From the budget to reasearching new and advanced technology. Whenever aliens touchdown on earth you are able to send a group of soldiers to go to combat. The beauty of the game is that when one of your soldiers dies, they are dead. For good. Meaning your maxed out soldier can die. Yep, the one thats been with you from the beginning. It's like pokemon, if each pokemon could be brutally murdered by aliens. This sounds horrible and nerve wrecking, but it adds a sort of intensity to every move. Think of it like chess, with guns. long story short, this game is great. If you like strategy than I suggest you try this.
