If you liked the original Dishono(u)red you'll like this, more of the same, you know what to expect if you've played the original. Which is a great thing in this case. I had some performance issues for a few weeks (on a 1070) but they seem to have patched it up pretty well now.

One of the best game stories I've played, in fact it'd be hard to think of a game with a story as good as this one; lots of layers and without the terrible ending these kinds of games usually have. Really well told and well paced as well. Gameplay is pretty standard for Frictional Games, fairly simple puzzles and lots of walking. Not their scariest game, although its probably not supposed to be, Amnesia:TDD was far more overbearing and 'horrifying' this was more 'spooky' with the odd scary bit and some disturbing bits. If you like to play games for story and you like a little mystery this is a fantastic game. If you only play games for game-mechanics probably not so much, although its not a 'walking-simulator' and its definitely a game as opposed to a Dear Esther type interactive experience thingy. Probably my favourite Frictional game.

This might be the juiciest game I've ever played.

Pretty fun game. It has some cool moments and the maps feel well designed, the flow of the gameplay (attack and counter-attack etc) is good and I like the squad system. Battling through the trenches feels different to most other games (reminds me a bit of Lyes Krovy in Red Orchestra).
I have to compare it to Red Orchestra because though they're different periods they're obviously very similar games. So it does feel a bit less polished than RO, the animations aren't as nice, the 'feel' isn't as nice and the ballistics don't feel as good/using weapons doesn't feel as good.
The thing I really don't like is how there is no feeling of momentum like in RO, the movement is a bit arcadey because of this; you instantly stop/start moving and when you go prone you have to stop and slowly lower yourself - it just doesn't feel nice compared to RO, where you have momentum and can 'throw' yourself forward when running if you go prone.
Honestly I think RO is just better - but that said it is a different game from that and it's worth playing in it's own right, it's also just come out so maybe they'll improve it over time. Probably get it in a sale if you're on the fence, but if RO is your kind of thing then you'll probably like this too.

This is a damn good horror game. The AI is pretty amazing, it gives you a pretty strong feeling of helplessness and the story is OK although I'm not a fan of the sods-law-everything-is-broken way of giving you stuff to do. Compared to say Amnesia TDD I'd say it's a good bit more intense (there's very little downtime) but also a good bit less 'horrifying'. Not that it isn't though, it really is.
My biggest complaint with it is that it's just far too long, it took me 21 hours but it could have been half that and it would have been a better game for it.

Very different from The Dark Descent, not as scary. Still a great game though with a very good story.
