Server issues happen, and people who are refunding after a couple of hours of not being able to play online on launch day apparently have never played an online game on launch day before, or they are just being drama-mamas. Networking is hard, and unforeseen problems are the norm. No one puts that much effort into building something but then thinks "I am going to design this component so it fails immediately." QA and load simulations only get you so far.

But on the subject of the actual game:

Pros:

• Some of the best character building I have ever seen. Really interesting and accessible synergies and build ideas.
  
• Great effects and moment to moment game play. The abilities are *fun* to use, and some of them (Especially Runic Invocation) have absurdly varied effects that go way above and beyond.
  
• The crafting system is sublime.
  
• Item factions are one of the best ideas I have seen in an ARPG in a long time, but so are the resonances. Resonances let you play with a friend and build up a charge that you can use to pass an item you found without them to them. It is a really cool idea, and keeps the tradition of minor trading without having to deal with the Merchant AH or RMT.
  
• Massive (absurd, frankly) amounts of stash space with customizable tabs and categories.

Cons:

• Gender Locked Classes, No character visual customization
  
• No ability, that I have found so far, to transmog gear into in game items. Meaning that MTX is the only way to customize the look of your character
  
• Some minor QoL issues that could be improved. The biggest one being that items in the inventory need to be able to be searched for tags/description in the same way that the stash and store items can be. This will help a lot with finding the affixes you want to remove/shatter to put on different items. This might already exist and I am just blind, but I could not find it.

Best CRPG I have played in a long time. Some technical hiccups for sure, but they are addressed in a timely manner.

Basically the space ship building game I always wanted.

Edit: And it keeps getting more interesting.

Definitely a passion project. Probably one of the best examples of it's genre ever made.
