Early Access Review
A difficult game, but the world is amazingly detailed and beautiful to explore. Extracting with your loot is always exciting and losing it can be a devastating loss to your gear if you don't get it back in the next run.

After having completed the game and it's achievements on PS4 before buying the PC version (cause texture mods!), I can say that it's a fun addition to the GE franchise. The controls are a bit tricky to get into, especially since remapping them isn't exactly easy on a controller, but after you get used to it, the game plays smoothly. The characters are interesting and all have their own little stories, the enemy variety is nicely added to, but I do wish the multiplayer was still alive

The game isn't as good as BF4, but it's also come a long ways since the original launch. The devs are actually fixing a number of bugs and each update seems to feel like a real update with changes and balances added in. A lot of fixes can actually be addressed via outside issues such as updating drivers, fixing issues using the Nvidia control panel, and just going online and looking for potential fixes others have posted.

Edit: EAC still sucks. In order to not get kicked, you need to go into the program files and reinstall / fix the program before playing. No one seems to know why and it's entirely random as to when it happens or why. That stupid thing is my only true issue that can't be outright fixed by game devs, updating settings, or having a good internet speed.

This is the game Mass Effect Andromeda was wishing it could be but with Borderlands drop in and out co-op and loot shooter mechanics to get bigger and better gear (though you can upgrade and still play well without needing that super power stuff). Throw in Gears of War style cover shooting mechanics and dodging and you've got this game.

Pros: It's good gun play and abilities allow for changing tactics on the fly within whatever class you pick, the story is interesting for the most part while exploring the world, and replaying quests with higher levels and rewards actually makes me want to go back to them for a chance at better loot.

Cons: the Always online is a problem. Unlike other games like Dark Souls, the online connection has to be stable or it'll boot you back to the starting screen. Without the option to play offline, I could see this being a major issue for newer players or anyone who experiences trouble connecting online. Running DirectX 12 looks nice, but occasionally the effects will glitch out and you won't see any gunfire or abilities. Running DirectX 11 seems not to have this issue so it could also just be my card.

Over all, it's a fun game for what it is. It doesn't ask big questions or make you face tough choices and consequences like other rpg shooters, but that's not what it is. It's a fun ride with fun powers, a decent selection of weapons to choose from to fit whatever style you play best, and that's all we can really ask for. I'm hoping for mod compatibility in the future along with an offline play mode so we aren't 100% dependent on Outriders' servers staying up to enjoy playing.

Want a workout with good music? This is definitely for you! Just add YUR and I use this for a workout. plus, it's easy to mod with new songs and such if you also grab the mod assistant program so you can enjoy more variety.
just don't always trust the modders song difficulties settings. Some are much harder than 'normal' even if they say normal on them.

Do you like big weapons and bigger monsters? Fighting with a team or alone and going up against foes that can easily overwhelm you if you over estimate yourself.

Plus, lots of great cosmetic mods to find with Vortex, so it can look amazing and even fix some bugs that are still in it.

As much as I enjoyed the game for time wasting and just doing some easy relaxing gameplay, it's impossible to return to the game after ANY lenght of time once you've uninstalled it thanks to the piece of ♥♥♥♥ Uplay is using known as DRM. Thanks to that, I can't return to the game at all because 'this key is in use by another account'. And what's their advice to fix this?

"You can simply log in to your other Ubisoft Account(s) to find which one has the game registered." - from their website

So if you either only ever had one account or this is your first time purcahsing the game, good luck ever playing it or anything else ubisoft put out and you're just coming back to because chances are you're locked out of those too.

Spent the last two hours trying to find a fix and their support is entirely useless and the only main fix I can find is uninstall everything, restart in selective mode, and reinstall it in that plus in admin mode before redoing the whole process again. This includes letting everything update again, which with my internet took around two hours just to download the game and another hour for all ubisoft's updates to uplay.

Early Access Review
I can say with full confidence that this game is enjoyable and fun for both returning fans and new players. Although the micro transactions are a pain in the a** for everyone, I can say that I'm glad to see that all of the items in the packs are made by the community. I've enjoyed this game since it's initial run as a TCM for UT04 back in 2008 and can say that the team has only improved since then with the gameplay, art style, and atmosphere of being over run in a desolate zone.

Great game to play with friends and offers increasing challenges for all skill levels.
