The game sometimes launches. I have to repeatedly launch the game and stop it to run. Launching the game via Steam is very inconsistent right now. Has to do something with Steam's script while viewing Steam console logs.

There is a crude workaround. Someone in ProtonDB [www.protondb.com] said that in order to reopen the game again, you will have to restart your PC.

For now, stick to Lutris/Bottles. They are working almost consistently so far since the past months. If you cannot launch the game suddenly, I suggest reinstalling the specific Proton/GE Proton version.


This is gacha so expact gacha things. No powercreep atm and the banners are unpredictable. Solid XCOM gacha game with detailed feet for y'all with feet fettishes. The story is well baked yet confusing for new players of this franchise. Great world building so far. Events are somewhat fun though you will have to play the level to read the story. This game is way more generous than Hoyo games. This game has PvP though but optional. Remember to deploy your low level doll in defense so that we can help each other maximizing our Combat Exercise rank.

For the fans of the first game, you will like this... the only problem is that your favorite waifu from there is not yet in this game. Or maybe they are deado, finished, terminated, unalived, erased, atl f4'd, system32 deleted, BSOD'd, oofed, hardcore game over'd, wasted in Avernus/Frankfurt so don't get your hopuims up, especially M4 and RPK fans .

For new players... well... strap in and buckle up cause this game, just like in the previous game, is full of love and hope. Surely, nothing bad will happen to your waifus. istg if something happens to groza...

Worth buying... when it was selling... damn...

TL;DR Pokemon with guns and actually good... with some early access setbacks

Overall Score: 8/10

Pros:
+ Great Pals
+ Great Pal animations
+ Great customization, although I want more depth like making face type and beard separate.
+ Great graphics, even at low settings
+ Great world and atmosphere
+ Latest QoL changes (as of 0.1.5.1):
+ Toggle instead of hold
+ Improved Pal pathfindings
+ Task prioritization (except Anubis)
+ Ok UI
+ Ok combat system
+ Ok soundtrack
+ Ok building mechanics

Cons:
- Assigning Pals can be clunky, despite of 0.1.5.1 QoL changes
- Pals pathfinding
- WANTED mechanic being too basic... and overkill as of 0.1.5.1
- Optimization issues:
- FPS Drops on certain areas
- Image scaling (the NIS logo is disabled) is not supported.
- Some bugs and glitches (from other people. I haven't encountered those so far)
- Capture rate. Even with Lifmunk bug being fixed and having 2x capture rate, it is still eh
- A bit grindy (given that this is survival game), although you can tweak and customize difficulty and exp rate.

Things IDC about:

- Story
- Controversies about this game being copycat and made by AI

Pros:
+ Free
+ Mod Support
+ Gun Animations
+ Gunplay
+ Sound
+ Core Features

Mid:
- Maps. Can be improved.
- Soldier Models. Can be improved.

Cons:
- FPS drops, especially when aiming at the scope.
- Janky keybinds. Can't even rebind mouse buttons.
- Can't run while crouched. This should automatically transition from crouch to stand to run. Same if leaned.
- Only has bare minimum of features. Since this is day one early access, I can see potential.
- Bug at VOIP local. This was acknowledged by devs and maybe it might be fixed a week or two after this review.
- Bots. They are just terrible.
- Some mouse slip when aiming at different spots.
- Can't zoom on maps.
- Hitboxes: Holes and grenades.

Overall: Multiple improvements, including bug fixes, QoL changes and additional content (although will be supplied by mods) are needed to complete the vision of this project.

Verdict: Give a try. It's free y'know, unless you are busy. Game has potential to middle finger latest CoD and Battlefield games.
