I wholeheartedly enjoy the game and can say it is good, but, the DLC policy, like with most Paradox games, isn't great but it isn't to the level of EU4 at least? I'm not sure if that's a win. If you want to really enjoy CK2 you need the DLC so either play multiplayer with someone or buy it on sale hopefully because it is a lot to buy at a normal price. Most of the DLC very much changes the gameplay from the base game.

One thing I can say is if you really want to buy all the dlc at this point, I'd probably wait until CK3 has it's release date announced and just enjoy the base game for what it is although the game will most likely be very cheap once CK3 is out.
