TLDR: Overall, this is the best game I have ever played. I want to give a massive kudos to Eidos-Montreal and Square Enix for creating such a good game without any catches at all. Seriously just the best game I've ever played. Such respect for the people who made this game possible, in a world of mediocre money grabs.
15/10

Review:

This is the first singleplayer based game that i have ever completed more than once, outside of gta v & detroit. Whether it's the "short" story or the collectables & achievements, I've found that i haven't stopped playing even though I've already completed the game three times. I absolutely love the entire story beginning and end.

I have played 78.1 hours in a week and a few days, for some reason the story of this game just hasn't gotten old.
I am probably going to finish the game at least one more time outside of just hunting the last 1% achievements. I absolutely adore the atmosphere of this game, especially the characters and world building.

The visuals are pretty much astonishing while staying at a high frame rate constantly on a mid-high tier sys. The audio mixing is pretty much perfect as far as i can tell, very immersive surround sound experience.

I have not gotten this enthralled in a game's story since the batman, detroit and watch dog games. The mechanic of finding items that are usually pretty well hidden with actually interesting puzzles to get into them in the chapters, that unlock actual thought out dialog back on the ship really made me spend a lot more time in the worlds, checking every corner for another crack in the wall to find an outfit or item in.

I've seen some people do not like the combat as much, but to me i love it. Balancing many different things is exactly how i like my video game fights. From using Rocket's grav bomb ability then using Gamora to slice everyone as quickly as possible to just shooting at random dudes to taking out the tanks through sustained gunfire, i found the combat really satisfying.

The difficulty is completely customisable, even down to your weapon cooldown, which i've never seen in any game before. Even then, i found playing on the default difficulty then turning it up on subsequent playthroughs to keep it interesting worked really well.

The only negatives i have for this game are that there are sometimes bugs where you get locked in place and have to reload the checkpoint, especially at the end of the second to last chapter. I've had several visual bugs where the entire head skin model of npcs' is five metres away from the eyes & mouth, which are in the correct position. random stuff like that. Nothing that subtracts from the gameplay experience other than reloading a checkpoint maybe two times a playthrough.

My other negative is that the music wasn't used enough imo. I feel like they could have used some of the tracks for ambience way more than they did. The score is really good and fits perfectly in all the scenes though.

TLDR; 252 Hours in. Great game. Got way better in the most recent patches, especially for people that have a lower powered card such as myself. Way less bugs than launch, i would actually say this is playable now for most people with a decent gpu such as a 1660 & up, especially if you are willing to drop some settings or resolution. Specs at bottom. Overall: 8.5/10 I would recommend waiting for a discount, as currently the game isn't finished enough to warrant AUD$90 IMO.

Review:

This is a review of cyberpunk from the perspective of somebody who pre-ordered the game nearly a month before release, and has played 252 hours since. I played this game for literal weeks, during covid. I played more than 5 hours daily for more than two weeks, the second the game came out. I still haven't finished the game.

As a day one player, if i had reviewed the game after 20 hours i would have said that it had an incredibly enticing atmosphere which is almost completely overshadowed by the gross amount of engine bugs, visual bugs, crashes and save-breaking bugs.

Had i reviewed cyberpunk at 100 hours of gameplay I would have said that the experience was somewhat better than what it was at launch, with certain game/save breaking bugs the still required to be ironed out.

Now that i am reviewing this game almost at the year anniversary, I would certainly say that for anybody with a decent PC, capable of running this game at least at 1080p at high/medium settings with 40-60 fps, you will enjoy the experience of this game without many hiccups during gameplay. I've thoroughly enjoyed the story, aesthetics and visuals, which have kept me coming back. I am definitely a completionist and stop to smell the roses every five metres which might explain my 252 hours of playtime without having finished the story.

Don't worry if you just like to finish the game and do the main story, I got to the main mission that locks you out of side missions at around 120 hours, and i am a dirty completionist. If you aren't playing this game like you're a kid in a candy store staring at every pixel, you can finish the game pretty quick. (and also not notice the massive amount of oversights, weird npc behaviour and weird textures etc as much)

The story is pretty well written, with a mega amount of content, including usually having voice acting for multiple characters and good mission scripting for most side missions. The main story line is very well polished, along with most of the immediate side missions/storylines.
To say this game is complete though, would be to lie out of your a**. I have played around with multiple third-party mods to fix certain problems like the driving, which (as someone coming from gta/forza) is absolutely unbearable, especially with a low render latency. The combat feels really good to me and I very much like the weapons/weapon system and the clothing and stats system etc.

There are a bunch of mods that have worked for me to fix certain save problems and performance problems, basically you aren't automatically dead in the water if you experience a performance/game breaking bug or want to change the way you interact with the game.

I would be careful playing this game if you have less than 8GB of gpu memory though. With my 1660 super 6GB, there are certain things like farther objects and very full scenes that my gpu struggles with at mostly full settings 1080p. It wouldn't struggle if it just had some more memory.

Overall: 8.5/10. For Visuals/Aesthetic: 9/10, Story: 9/10, Performance: 7/10, Updates: 7/10, Developers/Company: 8/10.

That being said, my pc specs are;
Gigabyte GeForce 1660 Super, Ryzen 5 3600, 2x8GB(16GB) DDR4 3200 Corsair Vengance Pro RGB, 970 EVO 500GB. I run the game at minimum 42fps under AMD FidelityFX, with a minimum resolution of 95, at almost maximum graphics. I've had a great experience since turning the FidelityFX feature on, with almost no extremely noticable quality/fps decreases now that i have properly tuned my settings.

This game is great, just don't expect to get the experience you might see on your favourite streamers latest video, probably about 10 hours of my 44 hours playtime for this game is joining a lobby and immediately leaving the second you see the little children zooming around at light speed.

There's also the fact that about 40% of the interactions are either toxic, non-comprehensible or in another language.
At least 80% of the time two people leave at the start of the game and at least three people leave throughout the game, meaning that if you start a lobby with ten people, by the end of the three round game, there are three people left.
If you even manage to get a game where you have 10 people throughout most of the people are memeing, they will just start the game by calling a meeting and saying to vote someone regardless of the situation. there is almost no way to enjoy a full game of among us the way it was intended in public lobbies.

If you actually have at least 6 people to fill a lobby with and have the right settings on, this game can be really fun. Even if you make a lobby with 2-4 friends and kick people who are stupid you can have a great game.

You can just start a lobby by yourself and kick people who are stupid and have the right settings on but it can take anywhere from 1 minute to 40 minutes to fill the lobby and once a few people leave most people will usually leave because they don't want to wait, people will also leave when they die so keeping up a good lobby can take a long time. At that point you might have a 10 minute round every 30 minutes.

At the end of the day, this is a really good game, especially if you have friends to play with. It's also pretty cheap so there isn't much reason not to get it if you don't mind wading through a few trolls in your game.

I have almost played 100 hours on this game, so to celebrate, im reviewing it!
this is great if you have a lot of steam games (Halflife, halflife 2, cs:go, tf2, portal, ect.)
it is a nice sandbox theme but heaps of maps, addons, mods, weapons, fun stuff and servers to either build or make sleds or play games, (prop hunt, the hidden, TTT and thats only naming a few) you can spawn in characters and props and hidden thiings in the game that were never seen, i would reccomend getting this game if you have the money, the only downside is if you want to play on alot of maps you would want to get counter strike with it otherwise the textures of all counter strike things go all pink and black and tiny squares and errors, so if you can, hook yourself up with the package for garrys mod and counter strike on the steam store, thats all for me today! bye.
