I really wanted to like this game...I really did...but I just can't.

Basically, its atrocious launch put aside,

Graphics are amazing (best part of the game to be honest), unit variety is good only with mods, campaign is huge and feels epic, battles are entertaining, some good ideas regarding diplomacy and politics are nice.

But it just feels kind of lifeless. Not sure how to explain it, but it doesn't really suck horribly, but it does suck horribly at the same time.

Not as good as any other Total War Game and CA is a horrible company for doing what they did with their 10000 DLC's that should have been in the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game in the first place, and that cost more than the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game itself to buy completely.

Buy on sale, for less than half price/ buy any other Total War game and enjoy.

So, YES. THIS DOES NOT LOOK AS GOOD AS THE PS4/X1 VERSION. Not even close. It only looks a tiny bit better than the PS3/X360 release and visually speaking, is a current gen port. However, they warned us this would be the case since JUNE, saying that the PC version was a hybrid that was better than the current gen, but not as good as next gen (in terms of visuals). They said they didn't have all the resources to fully port the next gen version (probably ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I admit.)

HOWEVER.

This is the best football game I have ever played in my life. I have played FIFA since FIFA 06, and this is the best football game I have ever played. The gameplay is really special, it flows very naturally, and while its not perfect, FIFA plays like a disgusting joke compared to this game.

And thats...about all it has going for it.

Master League is ehh
All the other modes are ehh, so ehh that I don't even remeber what they are.
And liscences (obviously) are non existant as usual for the BPL and the Bundesliga.


So if you can handle going back to the pile of garbage that is FIFA because the game isn't as pretty as you want it, don't buy this game. But if you can stomach some average visuals, you won't regret this game. Its really great in terms of what matters - The 90 minutes on the pitch.

P.S. it actually isn't a direct copy of the current gen version, It's its own hybrid version and contains several features that the current gen release doesnt, including extra custscenes and animations. Still, Konami sucks.

BUY THIS GAME

This game is incredible, and its developers have put unparalleled effort into making it so unique. Everything from the graphics to the game mechanics contribute towards the game's unique atmosphere and mood. Honestly, I would pay 60 bucks to get this game in its final state. It inhabits a frightening, lonely, and unforgiving wilderness and forces you to make life and death decisions, take risks, and face your doom countless times in any given playthrough. Surviving and succeeding is difficult but feels extremely rewarding. The maps are large and diverse, offering room for nomadic play styles and more settling playing styles. There are too many good things to write in this review, so just play the game to find out.

It is not without flaws, however. At its current state, it is lacking in some content, although I am confident that the addition of story mode (and hopefully co-op at some point maybe?) will fill in that gap. Sometimes, however, the games mostly successful "realism", ends up being a little bit too realistic. Wolves are a bit too aggressive, they should be more territorial and defensive. The hunger mechanics are a bit ridicoulous at times (aka I shouldn't be eating 2 deer, 3 fish, and 2 cans of beans a day...) The coastline highway map lacks workbenches and some much needed fireplaces (Why are their stoves in little fishing huts but not most of the houses?), and there is a very strange lack of roads in the mystery lake map.

Overall, the game is an 8.5/10 for me, and thats in its early stages. Definitely buy this one
