Early Access Review
Surprisingly good to be honest. I didn't think I'd like it that much since it's kind of like a game you'd typically find on mobile, but it plays really well in VR, way better than I expected. I think my only gripe with the game (aside from the fact that my arm hurts now) is that there isn't a 2H weapon in the game. I'd love to see something like that added.

The game seems hard at first, but upgrading your gear and getting to know the encounter mechanics really makes a difference. Bosses you kill don't need to be killed again (unless you change difficulty) so you won't find yourself just bashing your head against a wall until it breaks. You kill it, it's dead. That's nice. The boss level is basically replaced with a free loot level since the mobs in it are very weak. The level also heals you which helps to choose what power ups you want instead of picking healing powers.

Music is also really good, gameplay is good, game is good.

TLDR: It's good until you've done one zone. Progression is very very bad and demotivating as hell. You can't use your gear in other zones, levelling is pointless and talent trees aren't a thing, you lose any gadgets/tools you collected once you go into a new zone, so for example you all of a sudden forget how to use a boat, or how to ride your mount. All of the stuff that this game lacks was in the alpha by the way, so the Alpha is more satisfying to play, but has a lot less content.

Alpha player here, so bear that in mind while reading this review.

Cube World has its fair share of issues, but generally it's really good... until you've completed one zone. After that, when you move on to another zone, your gear (which is most likely legendary quality at this point) becomes gray quality, which is worse than the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gear obtainable. Your gear essentially becomes useless and is only usable effectively in the zone you got it from... which you've already completed. Granted, you can get +gear which is usable in zones adjacent from the zone you got it from, but further than that and it becomes useless. This means that each time that you complete a zone, you're completely starting from scratch, which isn't satisfying in the slightest. It isn't satisfying to have your maximum HP drop from 1500 to 150 just because you crossed a border. Not to mention that any gadgets that you've collected, such as a boat, a glider, reins for your mount, etc. are all lost when you move into another zone. Like what? Why do I have to go get another glider? Why do I all of a sudden forget how my reins works and can't ride my mount? It's so incredibly jarring.

Another thing that doesn't help this issue is that there's no personal progression at all. Unlocking abilities (albeit only a few) as you level up is gone and so is the talent tree. Stripped from the game. You can still level up, but they give incredibly arbitrary bonuses that aren't at all worth grinding for. For example, one of the bonuses you can get is "Your lantern radius is larger", which after I got it, I still didn't notice the difference. For the time invested, the rewards are so incredibly underwhelming that it massively demotivated me from playing the game. I'd just rather put my time into something else.

The game is basically ruined by a MAJOR lack of any sort of progression. Gear is completely useless when you leave a zone, your character doesn't get any stronger, there's no talent tree to look forward to, levels are irrelevant. Once you've completed one zone, you're as powerful as you're ever going to get, so if you quit right there and then (besides varying dungeons/biomes) you're not missing anything.

It's a real shame too because I was REALLY looking forward to this. Playing the Alpha was great and I had a lot of fun, and after hearing that Cube World is nearing release, I was hyped as mega balls, but what we got is really disappointing. Honestly, if Wollay and Pixie would change the way that levelling works and add more abilities and a talent tree, then the game would be fantastic! Not perfect of course, but a LOT better. It's odd, since most of the issues are a lack of things that have been taken out.

I'm kind of rambling at this point, but oh well. I honestly think that if they were to change the progression system back to the way it was in the alpha, a lot of the criticism would be gone. It's a complete lack of progression that kills this game.

Really good game with a LOT of content to go through. Player created mods make the game's replayability improve exponentially.

It's literally just Agar.io, but just with more lag and some sort of delay when you move your mouse.

Excellent driving. Great do-over mechanic. Good amount of content. One of my favorite, no, my favorite racing game of all time. Had it on the PS3 before I came to my senses and joined the PC master race (huehue race, get it? I'm sorry). So many times where I've been waddling in my seat trying to win a race thanks to the soundtrack.

The soundtrack is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amaze balls. Like seriously, it sounds like I'm racing for my life.

9/10, mainly because the online is closed. If the online was still enabled, then 10/10. Must buy.

As a day 1 player, (I think, very early player at least) ,Terraria is probably one of my favourite games of all time. Fantastic developers that really care about the game they've made. Great content that'll have you playing for days on end. With Expert mode (and in a couple of days Master Mode) you can really test your mettle against this game. It's hard, let me tell you.

If you somehow haven't played this game before, I implore you to play it. I can't recommend this game enough.

10/10

This game is an abomination. The game had potential to be great; being stranded in a desolate world where you have to scavenge for resources just to survive, all while being hunted by zombies and humans alike. But what do we get..?

We get ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sniped by zombies in an attempt to flee after hitting a zombie 100+ times in the face with a metal bat. A METAL BAT!

I really tried to play this game, my friend and I both tried, but it is SOOOOO not worth it. I will occassionally pop on to see if they fixed the ♥♥♥♥ STORM of a game, no, not game, THING, that they have created, but so far I've encountered nothing but bugs and ridiculously outrageous problems. It even has an in game store. IN. GAME. STORE. FOR A GAME YOU ALREADY BOUGHT!

From what I've researched, the devs are an absolute disgrace. You get permanently banned for entering the wrong password a few times; BECAUSE THAT WILL KEEP YOUR ACCOUNT SECURE! People who wrote bad reviews were being banned, random people getting banned to show that they have an efficient "Anti Cheat" system. People who bashed on the game and asked for a refund were disabled from using the forum. These aren't devs; these are money grabbing pigs.

Should you buy this game? Absolutely not. Not even worth being free to play.

0/10 - How the ♥♥♥♥ did this get back on Steam? Yes, it has already been removed once.

After spending many hours on this game, I feel that this is something that anyone will be able to enjoy. The game isn't too easy, but it isn't too hard either, interesting enemies and races, biomes are really well done, good mechanics in the boss battle, features regularly(ish) being introduced, it's just a really good game and I recommend it for anyone as this has seeped many hours of my gaming time.
