An extremely simple but satisfying game, if you have four people on a couch. You pick up stuff and you throw it at little dumb looking pill dudes. That's it really. There's a basic, visceral fun to it with friends. Look for it in a sale, though, there's not much depth to it and it's not like there's a single player campaign or anything.

This game isn't technically amazing yet, and may never be. There's nothing particularly special about it, and at times the jank can be infuriating. Its popularity has probably harmed the overall playability of the game.

All that said, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is probably the reason I built a new gaming PC, and I love pouring hours into it. It's addictive, it's thrilling, it's infuriating, and when you get even remotely close to success, or just kill a guy in a tense fight, it's exhilarating. It may end up only be remembered in the end af the zeitgeist of 2017, but it's a hell of a ride.
