Narratively speaking, this is without a shadow of a doubt, one of the most interestingly pieced together bodies of work I've seen come out of the engine. Both in how the gameplay and worldbuilding aspect come into play and associate with the plot, and in how the mechanics are altered to best fit it.

The combat style, though simple, is niche and functional enough to the point in which you can opt to not really pay attention to it for the first leg of the game, though later on you will -absolutely- need to keep an eye looming over it in order to beat some of the harder story bosses and secret encounters.

That being said, I do think that it suffers from pacing lulls during the last day or two, just before you get the stronger story reveals. And besides the very last -abstract encounter- of the game, I felt like I was missing a strong or climatic final boss figure to climax the more RPG-part of the game.

It's minor, I think? But worth pointing out.

Definitely worth the wait, and certainly one of the best RPG Maker titles I've played. THE best, if you're explicitly counting the ones that don't do away with the turn based RPG combat and instead embrace it to its best qualities. Surprisingly long for an indie RPG Maker MV title, I clocked in around 28 hours during my first playthrough alone, and that was without completing a number of the side quests (though doing a large portion of them), every piece and corner seems thoroughly polished, no wonder this game took so long to develop and release - it's an incredibly ambitious title.

The story and setting in themselves had me smiling like a clown, clutching the edge of my seat and in tears. I'm still trying to process pieces of the last few of hours.

Feeling a strong 9 on this one.
