Oh my god. Someone made my X-com x The Expanse fantasies come true.

Fantastic depth and subtlety. Only complaint: Combat UI largely results as a passing slugfest.

Not particularly hard to grasp if you're familiar with any kind of GSG, just read a few tutorials and don't be mad if you restart a few times.

They did it. They actually did it.

For almost a decade, we wanted the dream of Victoria: a comprehensive economic, political, and sociological simulator of the century of expansionist capitalism.

Bugs aside, this *works*.

I played a game as Cuba, under the wing of Spain's market. I grew a massive industrial base, importing raw materials and transforming them into luxury goods and engineering wonders. I grew rich. I declared my independence and won a war against Spain. Then I realized: no Spanish market, no raw materials. My GDP and standard of living plummeted as I scrambled to invade third world countries for their cheap inputs.

This is How Economics Works (I mean, in a simplified way). It's a wonder to watch a game simulate the needs of billions of people at scale.

It's light on historical content, which is a bummer. But the mechanics are there. Bugs will be ironed out. The UI will be cleaned up.

They actually did it.

This is fantastic. What if Final Fantasy Tactics, but pirates? Fairly intuitive interface and easy to get started, but very deep tactical gameplay. Compelling story.

OMG. A roguelike System Shock 2? This is fantastic, a top game of the year.

Fun, challenging combat and system. Decent story. Fast-paced with little boredom. Definitely Chrono Trigger feel. rad.

10/10 would grimdark again

Next to Fallout, the finest Post-Apoc RPG ever made. Memorable and more than a little scary.
