Aseprite is a game changer. It has a lot of the functionality you would expect from image software (layers, effects, tools, etc). I especially enjoy how palettes are handled. Pixel art has never been easier!

Beautiful graphics, controls are well-balanced, story is linear yet engaging. Overall a stellar experience.
