As a direct descendent of Robert Edward Lee, I can tell you he is not the greatest general of all time. The greatest American general ever, perhaps, but not the greatest of all time. That title would go to the likes of Caesar, Alexander the Great, Hannibal Barca, Napoleon Bonaparte, Sun Tzu, etc.

I believe Robert E. Lee was the greatest general of all time. He was the most honorable generals of the 1800's. He truly believed in the art and science of leadership therefore creatign a whirlwind of other leaders directly behind hm.
