I'm really trying to be patient with this game but its just tough. People keep lauding how realistic this is, but its difficult to see that through me shooting a guy twice in the chest to see him run back to cover. Not to mention the childish story or the laughable glitches in the game.

Its got a great premise: get into some real tests of accuracy and marksmanship and see how well you can do under pressure. They have interesting scenarios that basically jump out of any over dramatized stereotypes of "badass snipers" and can be creative at times, i.e. shoot three guys down before they execute someone, or blow up something by shooting it with the most precise timing. The only problem is, all of the components that add to that pressure or scenario are so sloppily executed you're really just reloading until you get the right combination of outcomes or hopefully less glitches.

If I get binoculars to check my surroundings before I venture forward and then find out that enemies load upon reaching a specific physical location anyways, completely negating my original scoping out earlier, what was the point?

Even more frustrating, the cover mechanics, its an afterthought, that unfortunately is a focal point of your survival. A piece of debris or a broken car becomes a life saver, but you can't peek over it unless your cameras facing the right way and in the mean time the AI is shooting you through the tiniest windows and inching closer with their infantry. Youre fighting the clunkyness of it more than the AI itself.

If you simplifiy it, take away any realism, and approach the game as a marksmanship test wrapped up in a saving private ryan wrapper, its definitely fun. However, don't be surprised if you need to reload your game 8 times until the game lines up the way they and you intented, but by that point you're over the drama and you realized you bought a broken game.
