Early Access Review
Can't recommend this game. Played it again recently after about 5 years and it has hardly been updated in that time. The physics are janky, especially the driving. The landscape is crudely constructed with many floating trees and doors that open the wrong way and clip through other objects. Many lootable items are also used as fixed props, which is confusing. Some doors and containers are interactive, some are not, so you end up clicking everything. There is no unifying logic to the interface, and many mechanics are unintuitive and require an Internet search to figure out, e.g. fishing, cooking, car repair.

Much like Stranded Deep, the developer releases just often enough to keep the updates page busy but doesn't actually improve the game significantly, essentially milking the game for all it's worth. It's a great idea and it looks pretty, but it's ultimately frustrating and certainly not worth paying full price for, even at this low price point

I've come back to this game a few times over the years and apparently it's now considered to be "final" and has had no bug fixes since 2023... and it's not just the bugs that are the problem. As mentioned elsewhere, the path-finding for both passengers and planes is abysmal; planes will regularly taxi over each other after getting stuck for too long, and errors will pop up randomly with staff being unable to get to their workplace even though valid paths exist. Service vehicles will randomly leave their worksite and go off on adventures just because you've built a new parking space elsewhere on the map.

Those are some of the bugs; there are also completely unfinished features, such as the non-existent ability to set staff wages and negotiate with unions - there's a Research Program dedicated to this that's essentially a waste of space. The weather system is also unfinished it seems, as airports built in some temperate regions receive no rain or snow.

Then there's the abomination that is the Flight Auto-Planner; what should be an essential feature for airports with more than 30 stands, it should save you the manual chore of manually assigning flights to time slots. E.g. small flights take 3 hours to turn around - if you set a gap between flights of one hour, that's 4 hours per flight, or 6 flights per 24-hr day, You then stagger each stand by half an hour so that planes don't all land at once. Easy, right? God forbid you turn on the auto-planner - it will randomly set flights at 5, 15, or 25 minutes past the hour, disrupting your clear pattern and resulting in fewer flights per day. It takes no account of when planes land, so you will end up with bursts of arrivals that clog up your taxiways and delay passenger processing, followed by periods of wasted inactivity.

To add insult to injury, the dev has been busy releasing paid DLC instead of fixing these issues, content to milk the base game for all it's worth.

Another bad console port, linear and utterly without character.
