Update 11/20/23 I am changing my review to thumbs down. I have definitely gotten my moneys worth out of this game since I picked it up in 2017 and it's an amazing game and community however I have completely lost interest in playing the game after the infantry combat overhaul. I spend more time fighting the game itself rather than fighting the enemy and I no longer have any desire to play due to these mechanics. The gun play is just not fun anymore. Hopefully they're wise enough to walk back some of these changes because I for one have just lost interest and it's a shame as this has been my main multiplayer game for 6 years.

Has become one of my all time favorite online FPS games. Even though it's alpha it's good as is. I'm sure as it moves forward the updates will make it better.

Lots of layers here to learn and the game has a lot of depth concerning combat and tactics. As others mentioned, it's in the middle ground between Battlefield and ARMA. The game is accessible to almost any FPS player who owns a mic. The community is thriving and lots of players willing to help newbies.

Update: 12/26/18 Joined Squad during Alpha V8, we're into Alpha V12 now. The game has some bugs that come with every new alpha release but overall it's only improved. Give the developers some time to polish things...Squad is a slow burn and it's worth the wait.

Update: 9/27/19 Squad is now in Alpha V16 and helicopters and tanks are out. It's an amazing time to be a squaddie.

Update: 2/7/21 Squad has moved into Beta, still a great game and it now has a lot more polish.
