Well designed!

Holy jeeze what a fun game. Great narrative that trickles in through it. Perfect balance of interactivity. And oh man the graphics THE GRAPHICS are 10/10.

One of the few day 1 purchases I've made.

Hell of a game

Tons of weapon/level/enemy variety. Really tight combat with good controls and feel. Smart design on room size and layout. Usual fixings of meta progression, daily dungeons, light story, etc.

All in all everything you could wish for in a twin-stick shooter.

Throwaway fights you know you're going to win to grind down resources is a horrendously boring and dated concept.

Eh, lots of hackers, but nice of Fatshark to add after all these years. Although saying "dedicated servers are impossible!!!" for a long time then adding them for their pet project is a bit ironic. Wish they would have just kept making a cool new map every quarter or something instead.

The Mostly Positive rating this game has (at the time of my writing) is absolutely spot on. I'd give it a firm 6/10. The setting and zones are absolutely STUNNING - very cool cyberpunk art and design and variety and worth suffering through the rest of the game just for that.

But your actual time spent will be dull and shallow.

Combat is bullet spongy, with repetitive battles of enemies spawning all around you. Guns are basically "choose the one you like, upgrade it's numbers, and hold fire while crouched behind cover". They attempt to add variety with usable abilities, but they're not really available enough during a standard combat to be interesting.

Worst of all is the backtracking. Even with taxis and fast travel it's still sooooo much repetitive fetch quest and "go here and hold F". I just outright stopped doing the sidequests eventually.
Especially because the writing is really amateur - lots of "hey you look like you can handle yourself, here's a quest".

Honestly if this game looked half as good graphically it'd be a complete flop. And if the combat was twice as good (maybe something like Synthetik, although that's 5x as good combat) this game would be a huge success you'd eagerly play coop with your friends.

For stability I ran into a series of half a dozen crashes in a row, but that was about it. I manually backed up my saves after reading horror stories of losing data.

All in all, it's alright, and considering I got it for $3 I certainly enjoyed looking at the environments enough.

Lovely game!

Reminds me slightly of Netrunner - not mechanically so much, but thematically. Really neat to have 3 decks to manage. Combat is varied and feels handcrafted. Honestly the game is pretty underpriced for what you get.

Bought way back to try, glad I refunded and didn't get suckered into an abandoned early access. Shame on the dev.
