Installed the game.
Did a quick play. Saw some heroes locked. How do I unlock them? Hero challenges.
I have to activate these challenges to have them count.
I'll just play a normal match.
No one is talking. People barely play the objective.
Every team I get seem to be AFK. I get a penalty for leaving matches to find active players.
See no progress on 'hero unlock challenge'.
I also saw that you unlock a hero through a battle pass?
Whatever Overwatch was, it is not it anymore.

Playing on an Ryzen 5 3600/GTX 970.
Wish I could enjoy it with DLSS 2.0, but way she goes.
Graphically, this game is wonderful, with wonderful views of mountainous terrain.
Animations are top notch, with the balancing act it can be a bit finicky, but every animation seems to server a purpose.
Story - So far, I have no clue what's going on, and that's pretty much Kojima for you.

Would I recommend buying it? Yeah. Maybe not full price, but some day, it is definitely worth a pick up.

Utterly terrible.

Time to kill is terrible. It's unbalanced. It's cheesy. There's no reason to use portals.

This game is TERRIBLE and does not represent old HALO experiences.

I have so many hours because I spent it trying to grind for FREE ABRAMS, aka parts so I can repair a tank on the field instead of becoming useless, and fire extinguishers to put out fires until I die because my teammates suck.

Early Access Review
Pros:

Plays differently than other BR's.
Looting seems pretty quick and responsive.
Pretty nice level design.

Cons:
Optimization is a bit of a hit and miss (i5 2500k @3.6Ghz / GTX 970 / 8GB RAM) All low, will dip to 45-50 fps causing slow downs in fights. Not good.
Netcode is a bit wonky. Maybe it's the non existent recoil, but it just feels like things are delayed.
ADS'ing isn't as responsive as I had hoped.

It's fun, but it has some improving. I can see it being a decent BR game if they continue to work and patch it.
Thanks for reading.

Listen up, lemme tell you about this 'beta'.

It's not ~horrible~, but it is no where near great.

It's got a lot of problems. Stuttering. Crashes. FPS drops. Lag. Netcode issues. Poor server performance.

P2P console kiddy connections.

It's no bueno. Till this is fixed, do not preorder this game. Do not even think about it.

DO NOT BUY.

As of the recent ICO update, this game has gone down the gutter. The ADS time is so sluggish now, it feels like I'm a drunk man firing a rifle for the very first time instead of an actual trained soldier.
You also go into a 'LOW READY' animation after walking for 5 seconds, which makes absolutely no sense. You're in an ACTIVE warzone, keep your gun at least shouldered not down to your waist. You telling me guys in Iraq would keep their guns pointed to the ground while bullets whizzed near them? Nah.
The time it takes for you to shoulder your gun, ADS, and get a relatively decent sight picture takes an absurd amount of time even when at 60-70% stamina. I can do it faster, and I've not been trained for nearly a year of US Army/Marines/whatever military.

If you put this alongside with Project Reality, which is by far one of the best mods out there for Battlefield 2, it's almost what the Battlefield series should have been. A wonderful mod that puts a realistic turn on the arcade game that BF2 was. Although the netcode and weirdness that you'd get from BF2 is still in it, it's still fairly realistic as you can get in comparison to modern games like ArmA2/3. It's a versatile game with plenty of mods to it, but the core Battlefield 2 game will never die. It was probably where Battlefield 2142 came out, where the series started to die off. May the Battlefield series rip.
