I played through this game for the Story Mode. Although a somewhat short campaign (~6 hours) I really enjoyed it. The character development was great, I felt attached to many of the personalities by the end. The gameplay is enjoyable and challenging. They added a features that made the game come alive. This was the greatest COD campaign that I've played to this point.

I've passed over this game many times in the past thinking that it is something I would not enjoy. I, however, received this game from the June Humble Monthly and decided to give it a chance. I'll start by saying this game is very intense. Like nightmares intense. This game was perfectly designed to tell an amazing story in such a way that any gamer may understand and has something for most anyone. It is incredibly gorgeous and breathtaking at everyone turn, even the hellscapes. The combat is repetitive, but has a fluidity about it that makes it continually satisfying. The animations are smooth and natural. I've also found that the game runs very well, on all max setting I am able to get a solid 60 fps with no drops. This is not so much a game as an experience. I will end this review by saying this, this game is not for those who cannot sit through cutscenes or struggle with slow-paced gameplay.

It's more difficult than it seems. Like how is it so difficult to piss in your own mouth, I don't understand. The rest of the game is ok.

It's never been a very polished game, but after revisiting it recently, I've found it's not really worth playing. The English translation is pitiful, the gameplay is bland with little to do, and its almost impossible to see enemies with how pixelated the game is. They also did a rehaul of the game to allow modding support which did not improve anything that I've noticed. I couldn't recommend this game and I can only hope they re introduce some of the content they previously removed.

Not good. Not bad.

I love this game. If you played platformers back in the late 90s and early 2000s than this game hits the nostalgia sweet spot. The way the game handles is on par with most platformers that I've played and doesn't create suffering when trying to make jumps. The characters are all unique and fun.

I'd like to add that I got this game in July 2018 humble monthly and didn't think much when I saw it. However I decided to download it and give it a try. I could not be happier about playing a game.

Update: At the point where the mechanic I refer to as hookshot (from legend of Zelda), which I'm not completely sure what the game calls it, the game seems to take a down hill turn. After chapter 2 the game seems to degrade in enjoyability. Chapter 3 is good but short and annoying in some acts. Chapter 4 is garbage, I hate it. I don't find chapter 4 fun in anyway and is a mess to navigate. This is as far as I've progressed so far because I've ♥♥♥♥♥♥ too annoyed to continue, but I'll update if I get through chapter 4.

10/10 stars.

I think that this game has potential, however I believe that an early access game's cost should reflect what is immediately available in the game. Currently I would not value this game more than $10. I would reccomend holding off on investing in this game until there is something worth the cost.

After 20 hours and a lot of rage, I put effort into enjoying the game (which isn't something you should have to do). I switched the game to my SSD from my HDD, which somewhat decreased the amount of times the game would freeze. I also looked up some tutorials on mastering the combat system. After doing this I continued playing the game to the point where I played over 50 hours in one week and finished the main storyline and a good majority of side quests. I'm not sure how people have been able to get to 200 hours in this game. Ultimately, after putting in effort to enjoy the game, I really did enjoy it.

---Takeaway---
A great game, although you do have to put in effort to enjoy it at times. Plenty to do through main and side quest. Very difficult learning curve for combat and other mechanics. However, once you begin to enjoy the game you only enjoy it more and more. I would say it is worth full price.
