This game combines the sound and graphics of Battlefield with the tactical realism of Arma just to throw it all away by allowing you to respawn, thereby voluntarily demoting itself to yet another first-person shooter.

This is my favourite video game.

Receiving it in some kind of magazine back in 2003 or 2004, and finishing it for the first time in 2019, it has been, next to the original Need For Speed Underground and Need For Speed Underground 2, the game that left the strongest impression on me. When I started playing this game I was so young that I could barely read or speak my own language, let alone a foreign language such as English, regularly mispronouncing the title as "Battle Reelms" and usually just fooling around, killing peasants in the most violent ways.

I don't know if it's nostalgia that makes me play this game over and over again, or if it's simply so good and atmospheric that it makes me want to come back until the end of my life, but having played it for nearly 20 years now I would say: Give it a shot, you might like it.

A timeless classic.

Proper simulation out of the box, but only a truly great game with a strong setup, immersive equipment, and all the essential mods, especially the Content Manager, SOL and the Custom Shaders Patch. As Peter Boese said, Assetto Corsa has the physics to make modding worthwhile. Almost 5 years after its initial release Assetto Corsa still has little to no competitors, which in and of itself makes the game very special and worth the few bucks.

Bought this years ago just to find out it's still in alpha? Even Rust is finally a game. Common.
