A truly worthy successor of Ori and the Blind Forest.

Will of the Wisps is every bit as endearing and beautiful as it's predecessor. With it's unique visual artstyle and top of the line atmospheric soundtrack this game indeed manages to recapture the feeling of playing Blind Forest once you dive in it for the first time.
Of course Blind Forest was unique in a sense, as it was the "original" entry of the series and didn't have to live up to a predifined standard, as Will of the Wisps certainly had to do.

In my opinion this was no issue though, because the sequel did not only live up to it's expectations, but most certainly offers a lot of improvements as well. The gameplay itself feels super smooth and polished and is certainly a big improvement over Blind Forest, which already offered top of the line handling and mechanics.

I love the new abilities, which very much fit the style of the original Ori but offer new refreshing content by being just different and new enough. What I enjoyed most, however, was the new time trials mode. I really loved climbing the ladder and hitting those sweet placements well within the first couple hundreds.

Whilst I personally still think Ori and the Blind Forest was the better experience in terms of it's sheer surprising and unexpected quality and engaging story, I do feel like Will of the Wisps is a near perfect successor and it definitely is my favorite game of 2020 so far.
