I met this rogue in prison. We were cellmates, and I learned many things from him, for which I’m still very grateful today. During the periods of volunteer work we did to reduce our sentence, he taught me Latin, logic, Roman history, and the arts. I owe a large part of my scholarship today to this noble trickster.

The only thing I regret from our time in prison is that I didn’t help him during moments of sexual coercion. Other prisoners took advantage of his fragility and innocence to force him to do things he used to do only by choice. But anyway, that’s water under the bridge…
