This was the most enjoyable surviving game for me.

PRO:
-Decent graphics, the art style really fits found footage horror movies. The monsters are really impressive.
Outperforms every other game in it's genre with this, be mindful, this is a really small studio too!
-The story is really solid, most of it told through our exploration.
-Craft structures, tools, etc.
-Weapons and gadgets are good, with some unique to the setting.

CON:
-Being a peer on a host's world means that the host have to run the server in order for you to play on that save, and many save affected bug can mix up your progression. It only happens sometimes, and nothing terminal, but irritating nonetheless.
(eg. I had to refarm two weapons, one of them is a ranged weapon, which is in parts initially. )

Risen, walking away a little from the standard Gothic experience, if you like exploration and pirates then give it a try.

PRO:
- The main character is the best of any Piranha Bytes game, he is a lovable idiot with pretty good quotes. Also I personally think that he is a badass. I don't have anything against the protagonist of the third installment, but he can't overdo this guy.
- The relation between Patty, and her father, and our inclusion in this is very well written.
- The pirate captains are good villains, and some of them can suprise us very well.
- Piranha Byte architecture still rules.
- Pirate theme vibes with fitting music.

NEUTRAL:
- Multiple crew members, I mainly used Patty, and gnome, they are the most interesting for me.
- A solid number of quests.

CONTRA:
- Location diversity is overruled by any other Piranha Bytes game.
- Irritating combat, missing the faster melee attack skill ruins this experience, because the enemies attack on abnormal speed levels.
- Joining to one of the avalaible factions gives some orientation towards a certain combat style, but storywise is almost non-existent. Especially the Inquisition, they will still badmouth you, and act like you are an enemy to them, and if you do something good, then voilá, you are the best hero ever, then 2 minutes later they go back to the arrogant idle talks.
- The last isle is really good, and special, but came too late in the story to be actually impressed by it after the neverending forests. (I know it's a tropical setting but still...)

A love letter to the true fans of the Gothic series, but it still unpolished as hell.

PRO:
- Multiple decent-sized islands to explore, most of them are quite different.
- Solid story with multiple intervining problems, and a buckload of side quests.
- Choose a faction from three different parties.
- Combat has a steep learning curve, but it's not too hard with any character build because you can have an active crew member helping you fight, they also add diverse commentary to each location, and even dialogues with NPC-s.
- Pirate theme coexisting with your chosen faction, so expect a lot of loot, treausre, and hidden area.
- A very well written chance meeting with an important character from previous installments.

NEUTRAL:
- You get certain extra benefits for joining a faction, like armor sets, bonus magic, a ship mirroring the group's aesthetic, some additional dialogue, and problem solving choices.
-Main quest has some naval encounters, not bad but feels a little forced sometimes.
-It's still the same old Gothic 1 gameplay upgraded to be a little more modern, the movement for example can be traced back to the frist ever game, if you are buggered by it then it's a negativity, otherwise nothing too frustrating.

CONTRA:
-Zero creativity for villain motives, some is the typic "I want to destory the world", and sadly most of them is illogical.
-We learn so little about the fate of some important places we visited in part 1-2.
-Voice acting ranges from pretty good to terminally bad, also the they use the same 4-5 stock faces on every not too important NPC.
-This game made me hate final blow animations, your character does this so much, it breaks the flow of the combat.
-I know that the Inquisition is supposed to be a collection of complete idiots, but come on, they intelligence level is beyond funny.

Cheap Dead Space.
Nothing more, nothing less. Hoping for a better sequel that can outgrow this term. Anyways, it worths the price.
