A very good roguelike with well-paced progression.

I had not played the game before the Foundation update, which apparently added content that some players thought was lacking in exploration and gameplay. Having finished the game in just over 13 hours, I feel as though that extra content is just filler and does not really alter the core game. In other words, it felt a bit tacked on as opposed to interlaced. As an example, the relationship perk system was virtually meaningless to my playthrough. I didn't feel compelled to work towards the perks, and as a result only acquired one of them. As I said, I finished the game in 13 hours essentially without perks. I feel as though the game progression should have been considered a bit more and perhaps gated progression a bit better.

As far as what I played, I think the game isn't too bad for what it is. Combat is very simplistic. The strongest element to the game is the exploration. It's just missing a bit of challenge and cohesion. I think the game would be most enjoyable for kids. Given the binary scoring system for user reviews I am going to give this a thumbs up, meaning it scores higher than 50%. But not by much, somewhere between a 5 or 6 out of 10.
