I've never reviewed a game on Steam, but if you haven't played Brothers yet - you should.

Gameplay wise, it's a puzzle game. A very balanced one at that - the levels are not too easy to figure out, but not so difficult that make you resort to walkthroughs. It is tricky, but very interesting, to control two characters at once - and it does feel like you're playing co-op with yourself. While it's just a matter of moving the sticks and pressing the triggers, it doesn't feel repetitive because of the variety of actions that the brothers perform when pressing the trigger - plus, the little extra activities (that give you achievements) are a nice touch that break from the normal mechanics of the game.

Story wise, I have been blown away. The characters are brilliantly defined for a game that has no in-game lines. The way the two brothers interact differently with the same environmental items or NPCs work perfectly to give insights on their personalities in an indirect way. The main plot is quite standard, but I personally did not anticipate the ending, nor of course the various "challenges" the brothers face on the way to their goal.

The game is also stunning graphically and musically - the theme is heartwrenching and the environments (beautifully designed) are illuminated gloriously, and they can be observed via the use of well-thought panoramic benches through the game. Tl;dr - this game is a joy to the eyes (and the ears).

Overall, play this game and you will not regret it. The only downside is that it's short (please don't look at my gameplay time on here - I played offline so that's not accurate, but I'd say it's probably around 4 hours) and because of the fact that puzzles can only be solved one way, I don't think there's much of a replayability factor.

Still, it's now up there with my favourite games, so please do yourself a favour and play this!
