Hey everyone, my name is Midas and i'm an ARPG enthusiast.

I was a "Shaman Tier" Kickstarter backer when the project called "Umbra", it was a pretty ambicious game and i was really hyped for it.

I can't recommend this game to anyone because it's all about delays, the game is in development for four years (yes, i know it's a small team, but the game is basically the same when we got our first alpha-alpha-alpha version) and they made ALOT of changes from the original project, Linux was one of the original plataforms that they were 'selling' on Kickstarter and they didn't delivered til' the date (even some alpha version for it).

The Dev Team lacks focus on the project, it seems that they don't know what they really want to do with their game, if this game is a "YES" for you, expect big changes to come to the game core gameplay and mechanics.

Today we rely on waiting their roadmap dates but they ALWAYS delay those dates ALOT.

The game today is playable in a certain way because they have; A city, you can move your character, kill some monsters, and struggle trying to build something on your character but sadly it has only 1-2 builds that are viable and the game difficulty rely only in making "sponge monsters" (huge HP pool).

You can see alot about the devs in their YouTube channel when you watch their "Q&A", they answer only vague questions and those answer don't mean anything (there is no information, only "yeah, this is planned but we have no idea when it will be implemented").

I still have high hopes for the game, but at the moment i can't recommend to anyone and not at all for ARPG lovers like myself.

Hope this review can help some people make the decision of buying or not, if you're an Action RPG's lover like me, feel free to add me and let discuss about Umbra and much more games to come so we can play together! :)

Sorry for my bad english, it's not my native language.

You should try again now. Since the release of the content patch 1 last month we have the full Act 1 with story (even if it need some polishing and the character customization still has to be implemented). Also the dev said their goal is to release the full game "before the end of 2019" so we are getting closer and closer to a release. Anyway, this would allow you to try the game and update your review so it reflects more the current state of the game :)
