Earth Defense Force 6 is Sandlot's magnum opus. Still a flawed game, from the usual EDF quirks, localization errors, performance and the sudden showing of a third party account, Sandlot makes up for this by making a powerful sequel to EDF 5; three of the classes get changes in their equipment that helps bring out some of the weakest franchise weapons to the forefront, such as grenades for Ranger and Wing Diver, or support equipment for the Air Raider, and this is in addition to the regular two weapons/three air raids they're usually allowed. Fencer, of course, is perfect, and remains the same 4 weapon, 2 exo juggernaut.

EDF6 outdoes itself through story. More characters, more setpieces, more moments, more genuine heart, surrounded by a plot that is a bit of a mess to get into at first, but rewards the players with the narrative hyping them along as they continue to defend Earth. As a sequel to EDF 5, there are payoffs that will make any veterans of that game ectastic.

A great game with passion and heart if you can see past its flaws, but one should absolutely play EDF 5 first to its completion to fully experience EDF 6.

A fantastic little gem of GZDoom goodness that oozes with love and passion from the dev. Fantastic map design that's always wow'ing to return to. A definite grab if you appreciate the 90's period of FPS and want to see how it evolved.
