Sure thing, it's not AOE2.
But that's the thing: it's a good game on its own.
It may not be better than AOE2, but it's different, featuring another kind of gameplay that simply cannot be compared.
Yeah the price might be a bit steep for such an outdated title but sales are a thing so there you go.
