so i get it, love this type of game, however 2 things kill it for me to the point its a negative review. set up a defense on a campaign, took about half hour - pressed save - crashed. set up again the same defence manually placing mines and tank traps (which you cant pause to do as the game doesnt allow you to even in single player) and tank trapped both flanks of the map forcing the enemy to go through the centre - nah they just drove up to the tank traps then round them off map so yeah pointless again. AI is janky as anything for both teams which is why it is so fun taking control of a single unit as you feel like a super soldier.

it took me exactly this long to perfect the game

was 3 achievements away from 100% completion and they decided to add 739 more achievements. this is a small idle game that you throw an hour or so in a day, not a AAA title thatll need 1000+ hours to complete.

so took me this long to complete the game on impossible difficulty. its not xcom but the xcom universe. i didnt enjoy it but i paid £0.46. the dialogue is funny which was refreshing but the game play mechanics i didnt like. as you cant get flawless (well i got one somehow) the constant reinforcements (oh god the reinforcements) but i get why the game is here. its a little spin on the universe and with the ending it might be hinting at mixed squads in xcom 3 (dont know how id feel about that but whatever) but yeah i played the xcom were its a FPS and that was enjoyable while this, i was glad to be on the back end of. (oh and i didnt do the tutorial and went straight into impossible so missed that achievement haha)

I played this game prior to release and enjoyed it, but after 2 hours i almost refunded. I loved the world and the idea and the way it all looked even the sense of not being all powerful but was it worth the price. i slept on it and have played it till 5am since, spent 2 hours with 1 random guy fighting a boss on his world that kept killing us over and over, with no chat of any kind it was impossible to communicate (which is a negative) but we both knew with gun signals to try to put our point across that we could do it, and we did. If you can spend 2 hours trying to do that and still enjoy yourself, then this game is worth it clearly.
