Like many others, I think the game falls off after a while as it becomes a slow grind into just trying out builds to find the one that works. I think the last third of the game could need an update. But for 10 bucks you can get like 5 hours of entertainment, a lot cheaper than a 2 hour movie.

The good:
Pretty graphics and seems to have interesting combos.

The not so good:
I really don't like it when card games have such impactful meta progression. You will never win your first run in this game, in fact you will probably lose a lot of runs until you get enough talents.

Things that unlock are mechanics and even straight up extra damage. +3 damage on something that does 3-6 damage is huge. Basically this is like saying "please go lose a bunch of runs before you can play the real game".

Also please tune down audio to 50% at startup or show a slider for volume before you start playing sounds, headphone murder once you launch the game.

Game is good, quite fun until around 50% through the game at which point it becomes a grind. I don't know if there is more story after those 50%, I think I am around 75-80% now and I am just going to stop. Each level is exactly the same, like literally just go down (sometimes pick up one thing), then complete the level. There is no challenge unless you get completely screwed by RNG. If you get the minerals explode on destruction perk every level becomes a breeze.

Overall I think this game could have benefited from more bosses all the way to 100% and also some more variation in the levels, what about some horizontal levels, labyrinths or other things like that.

So if 3-4 hours of quite fun content sounds good to you for the price, then get it. After that it becomes a grind and you will probably end up stopping at some point before you reach 100%.

Why are there stupid logic puzzles in this game? So I come in expecting an automation game like Factorio or Satisfactory, play for a while and then logic puzzle minigames! Yes that is what I wanted to play...

I might just refund the game for that reason alone. I don't play these kind of games to sit and solve stupid little minigames. Why do stupid designers always put in stupid ass minigames like that, most people don't suddenly want to have to play a completely different genre of game.

Until minigames are removed or an option to just not play them is added I will just leave this as negative, this is extremely annoying as it just takes you out of the main game, "here please spam click random squares until it works".

This game was a disappointment, it feels like an early access game to some extent with all the bugs. For me the worst is the UI, this UI is pretty much of the same level as terraria had when it first released. Which if you played terraria back then was not good, for the time that was fine since we didn't know better but by now there is no excuse for releasing a game with such poor UI.

There are also a bunch of other minor problems that other people have mentioned here. This game needs some serious bugfixes and a bunch of UI work before I would recommend it to anyone.

So from what I can tell the dev of this game must have had his friends spam the reviews or bought them.

Cons with this game you should be aware about before buying:
- Less than 2 hours of content.
- Not an idle game at all despite being tagged as such, it's 100% a clicker. Nothing happens if you dont click.
- At the time of the review just 5 levels to complete which are all really easy.
- You gain a coin currency for beating levels but they aren't used for anything.
- There is very little depth to the game.

Pros:
- It's pretty
- Nice music

My recommendation, play the demo and see if you want 5 levels in total of this kind of content.

Played this in the browser for about a year or more. Probably one of the best idle games out there, gets quite grindy after a while but that is the world of idle. But you can certainly sink months into this and it's free, you can speed up some things by paying but you will get everything (quite fast) without paying as well.

Amazing game if you like idle games

Obviously developers have never considered people with a non US keyboard layout. During tutorial I was asked to press the ~ key to do something, this key is not accessible in my native keyboard layout without holding down "alt gr", games do not recognize this as a key press when doing so. Looking to rebind this to something else, not possible...

So unable to continue tutorial and some features of the game are locked away because I have no way to access them without changing my keyboard layout to some layout I don't even know.

Design 10/10 there... at least it happened early on so I can refund this.

TLDR: This is a clicker not an idle game, if this game was named "Underworld Clicker" I would give it a thumbs up, but since it is named "Underworld Idle" and it is not an idle game I can't recommend this game. If you want a very active clicker game then this is for you, if you are looking for an idle game then look elsewhere.

Long version:
I have played this game for a long time now, I wanted to unlock every feature without any forms of cheats and I feel I did so now. At least every feature that is available at the time of this review.

I really wanted to like this game as an Idle game, however this is not an Idle game it is a clicker. It does not really have offline progression (you regenerate energy and get a pitiful amount of waste even with upgrades), it is an active game. The best strategy for the game is to play active and reset as soon as your energy runs out (roughly every 20-40 minutes, and you will be constantly clicking during those 20 minutes) at which point you get some points towards a permanent upgrade and repeat. Long runs are only useful when you want to unlock some new faction for the first time.

Every upgrade that makes this game slightly like an idle game is locked far into the game and they aren't even that good at the moment. You would still have to actively manage the game two or three times a minute if you want to make any reasonable progress. This even goes for endgame upgrades, I just unlocked the mushroom farm and looking at that you would have to interact with the game every 40 minutes to optimize your play, that is not an idle game.

Example of a typical run for me now (Times are Minutes:Seconds):
- 00:00 - 00:30 Buy some initial stuff
- 00:30 - 01:00 Unlock first two crystals and activate them, collect waste
- 01:00 - 03:00 Buy more stuff and start drowners faction
- 03:00 - 04:00 Get all the energy from waste, activate Crystal 2 as many times as possible, keep buying stuff
- 05:00 - 35:00 Buy more stuff constantly, having to hold shift and the mouse button down with the window active while watching youtube.
- 35:00-40:00 Once crystals expire do some sort of reset and start over, I usually need 3-6 resets for an upgrade.

So that being said, I do enjoy the upgrades in general, there are some interesting concepts to this game however it is not an idle game. Unless the author makes significant changes to this game I don't think I will play it again.
