Early Access-recension
Its become abundantly clear that Tripwire is more concerned with milking their consumer base than actually making a game. "Early Access Done Right" apparently means rarely patching longstanding gameplay issues and instead inserting more and more ways for people who already paid $30+ to spend even more on an incomplete game.

In all honesty I did have fun with the game, but anyone interested in an upgraded KF1 is going to enjoy the visuals for the span of one map, get bored with the stale, broken gameplay and then wait for the next perk to be released in 2045.

Should have seen this coming with the direction the DLC went with KF1. Don't make the same mistake I did, or at least wait for the game to come out of Early Access, if that ever happens.

I don't get why everyone is so miffed about the micro transaction crap. It doesn't give you an advantage over anyone, and I've been pretty happy with the speed of the updates and have never had any "game breaking" bugs. Honestly, out of so many videogames this is one of the few that I have no problems with. I think near perfect.

How is the gameplay 'broken' exactly? It's the same as the first game. But I suppose lying to justify your idiocy is commonplace among entitled brats.

I can respect that you remain hopeful about the future of the game, and honestly that's probably a better attitude to take in this scenario. And who knows, maybe with the next update Tripwire will start patching the game more frequently than in 4 month intervals. But the announcement of microtransactions before the Patriarch patch details we got today puts a bad taste in my mouth and I remain skeptical.

Ive also never had any game breaking glitches that have made my experience not enjoyable especially sinces its an early access title. hence the brand new update with lots of content coming wtih it is coming out before the micro transactions i think you saying they priortized transactions over the game is nothing but an assumption. sorry man but i have to disagree with your points. 30 dollars that i spent on this plus all the new content coming and tweaks they are going to make to the game before the release is well worth the money

Looking at all of tripwires games i highly doubt thats there plan. as one example the yearly free updates for the first killing floor and red ochestra 2. you say commando and support have to conserve ammo exclusively for hand and large zeds? since hans is the boss wave and you can buy ammor right before that i dont get that. And with all the ammo crates i run into ive never had to just exclusively reserve ammo for the large zed as commando on hard difficultys. I imagine the most expensive gun with any class makes the class extremely useful in any situation. the regular flame thrower actually clears out all the trash really well. ive never really had explosive projectiles dissapear on me so frequently that ive noticed it.

I mostly find it stale because things that could easily be fixed or are game-breaking have barely been acknowledged outside of the community. Commando and support have to conserve ammo exclusively to unload on large zeds and Hans. Firebug is essentially forced into using the Microwave gun if he wants to be impactful in later waves. Any weapon that shoots an explosive projectile has a chance of the projectile just disappearing middair (might've been hotfixed, not sure).

Barring extremely game-breaking glitches like the explosives one, most of the changes that would make more classes than berzerker and medic viable are as simple as tweaking weight values, weapon costs, weapon damage, and ammo count. The fact that microtransactions have been prioritized over what is essentially changing numbers in a few class definition shows to me that finishing and supporting the game isn't actually a plan for TWI, that their plan is to instead milk what few players are left and abandon the game.

I dont find the gameplay stale or broken. I dont understand what people want from gameplay. Its killing floor. It plays like killing floor. however microtransactions are kinda dumb

Like I said, I did legitimately enjoy the time I spent in KF2, but the complete lack of content and bugfix updates coupled with the announcement of microtransactions and crates leads me to believe that finishing the game isn't a priority for tripwire, and as such I can't recommend that anyone buy it. In fact, it leads me to believe that the game is about to be abandoned. Why else would they announce microtransactions before we even get patch notes for the repeatedly teased gunslinger update?

If the game is about to die I would be crazy to recommend anyone purcase it. If TWI's plan changes my opinion might change too but for now I feel like I should warn people expecting an upgraded KF1 that they won't be getting it any time soon.
