TL;DR: Very good multiplayer train simulator, slightly hampered by bad AI dispatching.

One of the few multiplayer games I can stand to play. Very wholesome community just chilling with trains. Not that much interaction all of the time, but still nice to meet some actual people either driving trains or dispatching at stations.

Excellent train simulator. Varied trains, and whenever you get bored of them, take a break by doing some dispatching.

Some drawbacks. Single player scenarios are pretty basic, with some lacking AI traffic and thus feeling very barren. Plus no saves or checkpoint right now, which is a big problem for scenarios that last 3 hours or more.

AI dispatchers on the multiplayer servers are a joke a lot of the time. I've noticed four common mistakes that they make.

1. They cannot prioritise properly. Several times I've been stuck behind red lights at stations way past my scheduled departure because the AI decided to clear through another train before me even though its scheduled departure was after mine.
2. Ignoring scheduled layovers and thus hampering high speed express trains. Sometimes freight trains or low priority passenger trains have scheduled layovers to let high priority trains pass, but AI dispatchers might ignore these and send them through without stopping, after which the high priority train gets slowed down.
3. Creating nonsensical routes through their stations. Just a few days ago I was in a high speed train, and for some reason an AI dispatcher diverged me into a siding, even though I had no scheduled layover and the track going straight through was totally clear. This forced me to crawl at 20 kph for ages on a 200 kph stretch. It cost me like 10 minutes.
4. Being overly stressed about sending through trains when it's busy to the point that they start sending trains down the wrong way (on the left hand side of dual track lines), rather than just wait for one minute to send through the next train on the correct side of the tracks. Usually this just ends up delaying several other trains who have to wait for their side of the track to clear.

Since there are many stations that can only be controlled by AI dispatchers at the moment, it is really a miracle if you reach your terminus on time.

You don't really get penalised for delays in multiplayer, but it's still kind of annoying when you end up late due to incompetent AI dispatching.

If you like train simulators, this is perfect for you, especially if you're interested in dispatching. So join us! We really need more people on the English servers!

Over all very good game.

In a way it is essentially Liberate Bandit Camps: The Game, but since liberating the camps involves blowing up a bunch of structures (calles Chaos Objects in the game) it's a fun gameplay loop. Plus the destruction of structures, enemies and enemy vehicles can be done in a number of ways. You can use rocket launchers, planted explosives, or just pull stuff apart with tethers. One of my fav ways of dealing with enemy choppers is to just tether them to the ground and pull them into it. Never gets old! If you just want to blow stuff up this is a very good game for that.

Unfortunately it also has classic Open World padding. Stuff like collectibles and scenarios - which might be fun at first but gets repetitive quickly - can grant you various gameplay buffs. Most notably there are a number of challenges that you use to unlock upgrade for gears, and there are a lot of challenges to do. Some of them are pretty fun. What I probably enjoyed the most were the challenges where you get to blow up bases as quickly and efficiently as possible using different methods. The wingsuit challenges are all right but there are soooo many of those that it gets a bit overwhelming, and their entertainment value isn't enough to justify the number, in my opinion. But apart from that most challenges are pretty dull and only take away from the fun part of the game, which is blowing stuff up. As an example; there are road, sea and air races, which aren't that fun. Road vehicles don't handle great and the air races are not that interesting nor challenging. Sometimes I find the sea races kind of fun because you get to bounce around on the waves with a speed boat.

Plus there are some minor bugs every now and then and I've had crashes to the desktop several times. It's a bit janky sometimes.

Over all, however, a very enjoyable game, but it is repetitive. Most importantly they've made blowing stuff up fun, which I can't complain about. Who doesn't love to just go on a rampage every now and then?

Performance is terrible even with graphics that don't really justify it. Changing graphics settings did no noticeable difference. Even on lowest settings I probably got an average of 25 FPS on an AMD Radeon 580 with 8 GB of V-RAM. Very unstable and nauseating FPS. Sorry, but I had to get a refund for this.

I looked on Steam forums and the devs said that they were working on fixing it. That was more than a year ago.

Game seems fun but the horrid performance makes it unplayable and needs to be fixed before I consider purchasing this game again. Good luck.

An incredible survival/adventure game that outplays many other survival games, in my opinion.

What it does different from other survival games
  • Specifically designed world that is not procedurarly generated. This makes it fun and interesting to explore and will not have any big landscaping bugs, but it will of course decrease replayability.
  • Survival elements that are well balanced and not obnoxious. Food is plentyful both in the way of flora and fauna. Water is a bigger issue, but there are ways to have a steady supply. In general you don't need to babysit your needs, which means that they will not be in the way of the story in the game.
  • A well implemented and mysterious story that gives you things to do besides surviving. The story also justifies exploring the world, scanning the plant and animal life etc. It makes sure that you stay active and don't just sit around in your comfortable and safe base all day. The desire to get off the planet forces you to take exciting risks that give you other rewards than just food and water to survive.
  • Many goals that all interlope into the single big one of leaving the planet for home. As mentioned before, surviving is only one of the goals in this game. It makes more sense to also have the desire to find your way out of the hostile environment, unlike other survival games where you only aim to survive, not find a way out.
  • A clear beginning and end. This is not a survival game that goes on for infinity as long as you survive. You could certainly play it that way, but since survival isn't the main challenge of the game that would hardly be interesting.

The good
  • Incredible and beatiful world to explore with many different biomes and animals, both harmless and dangerous.
  • Almost only non-lethal weaponry, meaning that some of the beasts inhabiting the ocean will just be impossible to defeat and can only be avoided. You will not top the food chain in this game, and thus never feel truly safe exploring.
  • Interesting and mysterious story that guides you through the game.
  • Very well designed, almost flawless UI that fits the art style.
  • Hunger and thirst that is not annoyingly difficult to manage and will rarely interrupt your ability to progrees through the story as long as you are properly prepared.

The not so good
  • Some minor bugs and annoyances in an otherwise very polished game.
  • Lack of replayability. I'm not sure how entertaining it will be to play the game again after completing it. You will not have a new world to explore and new things to learn. You will know the game's secrets.

Conclussion
Incredible game that does a lot of things so much better than many other survival games. If you want a game that's more about the story and exploration than survival, don't even hesitate to buy this one. If it's on sale it's a steal.

It looks awful and doesn't run well. The animations are horrible and the weather effects are crap. But there's just something about it that keeps you coming back. The detailed buses and sound effects. Selling tickets and giving change as efficiently as possible. If you've ever wondered what it's like to drive a bus or if you are just a fan of simulators, then yeah, get it.

It's a shame that there really isn't that much content given the price and the DLC is quite expensive.

This is DiRT back to it's roots. Pure rally, no Gymkhana bullcrap. Amazing rally stages jam packed with nice details. Really good pace-notes most of the time, recorded properly, so your co-driver doesn't sound like a robot. A decent selection of cars, each with their own characteristics. And of course, rallycross and hillclimb are there as well.

One thing I would like is a "Repair all" button when repairing your car between stages. In rallycross you have 60 minutes to repair, so unless you've had a really big wreck in a race, you will have time to repair the car with time to spare. It becomes a shore having to repair every component separately between each race.

A must buy for rally enthusiasts. Just get ready to crash... a lot...

Okay, two things out of the way first:
1. Yes, this game is free to download and try, but you have a number of restrictions as a free player. You are able to hunt mule deer, and will have the ability to ethically do this immediately. You can also hunt rabbits for free, but the rifle you receive for free is not ethical for rabbit hunting. You can still hunt rabbits ethically for free by completing missions and buying the Single Shot Shotgun with gm$, as well as birdshot ammo.
2. I have played this game as a member for a few years on and off (disregard the time Steam says I have spent with the game), and it is without a doubt the best hunting game on the market. The environments are gorgeous and there is a good selection of animals for members to hunt (as mentioned, guests can only hunt two). No hunt is ever the same and the game can be very relaxing at times and very tense at others.

I know how much debate there is about the business model, but let me try to justify it a little bit.
First of all, there is a reason why there are paid subscriptions, as opposed to a one-time purchase. theHunter has been constantly in development for several years. Back when it started there was one map to hunt at, and four animals (I think). Today there are 18 animals and 7 maps, and with this there have been a huge number of new weapons, clothing, callers, you name it, added. Because of this the developers need a constant flow of income, and one-time purchases do not satisfy this need.
Second of all, it IS fairly cheap to be a member, at least in my opinion. A three month membership without any equipment included will cost you 10 dollars. That's about 3.33 dollars every month, which is almost five times less than you have to pay for WoW and The Elder Scrolls Online. If you purchase a 12 month membership you will spend even less every month.

Now, I agree that the price for weapons and other equipment is a bit hefty. A rifle can cost you anything from about 4 all the way up to 10 dollars, which is, frankly, a lot, and it can become a bit more if you purchase a scope for it as well. Luckily for me I can afford this, since I only buy a weapon every other month or so, but I understand that some might not want to spend their hard-earned money on it. But in my opinion, every weapon SHOULD cost at least 1-2 dollars less than they do now.

Some prices can seem even more ridiculous, but I won't go into that.

When it all comes down to it, this is the best hunting game there is out there, and it's all up to you whether you want to spend money on it or not. I completely understand if you don't. I at least hope that you will get a few hours of fun hunting mule deer.

So why is this such a good game?
This game offers you a lot of animal variety, and thus a lot of different hunting styles. There's a lot of different weapons, from short ranged weapons like bows and muzzleloaders to long range rifles, giving you even more different ways to hunt. This is a very rewarding game. It always feels amazing to shoot that buck with huge antlers and see it drop to the ground like a sack of potatoes. Plus you can have even more fun by working together with a friend, or, alternatively, competing against each other. There are many, many hours of fun to have in this game, but I am not afraid to admit that you will have to spend money in order to enjoy it fully.

Conclusion
I know the business model is not perfect, and it could use improvements, but all I can say is that the money I have spent on this game has been well worth it, because there really is no other game quite like this. I don't remember another game that has made my heart beat quite like theHunter has at those really tense moments. It is, as far as I am concerned, one of the best games I have ever played, and well worth the money. Take it or leave it.

If you have any questions regarding the business model, I made a video guide a while back explaining the ins and outs of it:

Feel free to comment on the video with any further questions, as I am happy to answer them. Just try to stay respectful. ;)

Assetto Corsa is a racing simulator with huge potential. I cannot wait to see what Kunos does with this game. The physics feel realistic and you can have great fun with a force feedback wheel. Right now you can only do time trials and stuff like that by yourself but even so I have had tons of fun just exploring the tracks and the vehicles. There isn't a huge amount of either right now but more is being added fairly frequently.

Good:
Graphics are good, not the best, but not at all bad.
There is a nice variety of different cars: road cars, track day cars, open-wheelers and racing cars.
Impressive and realistic physics, as well as excellent force feedback that's highly customizable.
Different types of assists that can be turned on or off, so this game fits both the racing simulator enthusiast and the casual player.
A variety of mods available on the forum.

Bad:
Not a whole lot of content, but it is in Alpha, so that's acceptable. :P
Most likely the game is very difficult to play with a keyboard. I haven't tried but I assume it is. You can use a game pad though which is probably a bit easier, but of course, a racing wheel is best.
