A lot of fun, especially for fans of melee.

NASB feels more fluid than smash ultimate, though obviously less polished - spot/airdodging and rolling is replaced with a dash feature, and while there isn't much you can do to get out of an infinite combo, overall it is more difficult to frametrap/predict movement.

It is a lot of fun and controls very well and most negatives are outweighed by that.

Currently it feels as if the gap is a bit too wide between the best and worst fighters, both in terms of competitive viability and animations, and some attacks hitboxes defy logic.

At launch there is limited controller customization settings which might be an issue for some players, but NASB is playable on just about any input, keyboard included - personally I find it plays best on a gamecube controller, but most my friends are using xbox ones.

Unfortunately mirror matches currently do not feel possible as, at launch, there are no alternate skins/colours for fighters - though this seems to be a licensing issue more than anything else - like all these characters most likely have branding guides that say, for example, spongebob is under no circumstances allowed to be any colour other than yellow.

Anyway, if you like platform fighters I highly recommend buying this game, and hopefully it's supported for years to come.
