Shadow of the Erdtree might be the single best piece of DLC/Expansion for any game I have played.

Visually: It’s absolutely stunning.

Gameplay: There are new weapons, ash of wars, spells, enemy’s, bosses… etc. Before release there were some people concerned about being over-leveled or having max-level gear. However, From has found ways to up the difficulty so that being too easy is not a concern.

In regards to difficulty: There seems to be a section of players that feel like the expansion is too difficult. This has been a long-standing critique from many players who have a hard time figuring out FromSoft games. My guess is that the outcry seems greater this time purely because Elden Ring reached a larger fan base than previous games. Shadow of the Erdtree is no different than other FromSoft games and their expansions. If anything, Elden Ring is more accessible than any FromSoft game has ever been.

To sum up, Shadow of the Erdtree is a fantastic expansion that I look forward to playing for years to come.
