TL;DR: A shoddy port of an absolutely great and challenging game, most of the downsides from the PC port can be fixed by community mods/patches.

SMT III Nocturne is an RPG game that might not be for everyone.
This game has a rather strange and abstract storyline and concepts, and has almost no handholding whatsoever.
The game rewards strategic play for exploiting enemy weaknesses and there's quite a lot of freedom regarding how you upgrade and build the player character.
You expand the player party by recruiting demons, you can further create stronger demons by fusing together demons from your party.

Regarding the PC port, here are the positive points:
- Quality of life changes, when fusing a demon you can choose which skills you want to transfer
- The DLC's provide two areas that are great for farming experience or money

negative points:
- The game is locked to 30 fps
- you cannot increase the internal rendering resolution to something that is higher than 1080p

Regarding the negative points, there is a rather promising mod that makes the game playable at 60 fps. Some animations like doors and some skill effects are still rendered at 30 fps.

The most challenging version of Final Fantasy IV there is but the UI is kinda bad, feels like a mobile UI.

A good, sometimes challenging game, yet if you haven't played the first one, I wouldn't recommend this game. Parrying got harder, NPC red phantoms and enemies have a limitless supply of mana and magic is far superior to melee in every way (you can literally kill most bosses with 6-7 casts of great resonant soul).

If you liked the first one, you're probably gonna (somewhat) like this game. If you thought the first one was too hard, this game will be perfect for you (casual scum)
