As things stand right now, I cannot recommend this game. HOWEVER since the last edit to this review I have had a renewed passion for this game and what it could possibly be if Valve actually fixed their game.

This game is the reason I initially got a steam account, and despite scarcely playing it for the last 4 years it still remains my most played game. The game hasn't lost any of its charm or fun, the highs are as high as they were in 2017 (when there was the last major update) but there is now a new low. Cheating bots run rampant in Quick Play, the hosters of the bots DOX and SWAT any large community figures who speak out, they have tried to DDoS the Fix TF2 website. Trying to find a clean game nowadays is like playing a slot machine, and much like slot machines - it's rigged. (unless you use community servers)

But when you do make it through all the BS, the game is still among the best multiplayer experiences out there. You are just gonna have a hard time making it through the BS. The game is absolutely worth saving despite being an actual dinosaur.

If Valve do something about the bots in a sustainable and meaningful way, so that the bot problem is fixed or SEVERELY diminished, then I would heartily recommend playing, but in its current state - it's a travesty.
