So, I (M26) was hanging out with my friend (M26) recently, and during our conversation, they casually referred to me as an "acquaintance." Now, I've known this person for quite some time, and I always thought we were pretty close. We've shared laughs, deep talks, and even some "crazy" adventures. But hearing them call me an acquaintance felt a bit surprising, to say the least.
I'm not one to over analyze things, but it got me wondering if there's something I might have missed or if there's a shift in our friendship dynamics that I haven't picked up on. Have any of you ever experienced something similar? How did you handle it, and did you talk to your friend about it?
I'm debating whether to bring it up with my friend and get some clarity or just let it slide and not read too much into it. What would you guys do in this situation? Any advice or similar stories would be greatly appreciated!
