Until Capcom fixes performance issues i don't think anyone without a very recent PC should buy this game.
The actual graphics that this game pushes don't justify such poor performance without extreme tweaks, like config file edits to disable stuff like Fog that kills performance, or manually updating a dll file in the game directory because their implementation of Direct Storage is so terrible that makes the game constantly stutter.

That being said the game is fun but after grinding your perfect gear there's nothing much to do, but this is still the first version so as usual there's more to come in the coming months.

A completely new chapter for ATLUS with a game based on the Persona/SMT paradigm but expanded with a deeper class system that allows for much more freedom when building your party. This story take place in a high fantasy themed world with many different races that's riddled with racism and class discrimination and the way to approach the game narrative is expanded with a lot of traveling and exploration when compared to older installments.
Game combat overall feels harder than a regular Persona game and strikes a balance with SMT unforgiveness, this means you're forced to play around with your team much more than most people are used to, and more often, to abuse enemy weaknesses. No playable character is locked into a specific role, anyone can use any class and inherit skills or create special combos to achieve higher heights in combat.
The Social aspects are much simpler, you still get "social links" but you can't fail a rank up since giving the wrong answer simply will not give you extra rewards (mostly Magla, a resource for magic attunement).
All of this is crowned with fantastic character art and amazing music.

A must have if you're a fan of Persona, SMT or classic turn based JRPG in general.

Great feeling of freedom from exploration, but you're still got that anxious feeling that something could kill you at any moment. In the open world you get much more slack for playing poorly thanks to your mount, but getting too many enemies together is still a death sentence if you don't play carefully. Haven't done much of the story for now, the first story boss is still alive and kickin, but i've been exploring the southern areas and so far i like what i've seen. Performance is slowly getting better, one of the last patches greatly reduced the amount of stuttering due to background loading.
Highly recommended even for those that never played a Souls game, got a couple of friends that mostly play for fun and they're really enjoying it at their own pace, and even beat the first story boss.

Played the game on console and it's a gem, but on PC? Stay away from this port, audio bugs, performance issues, crashes. I'd say wait for a fix but the game was released and left there to rot by Kadokawa.

Welcome to a game of wonders, where most of what was advertised is false and you get just a small bit of it because they had to deliver something on time. Sand planets? Not here, giant snake like enemies? Not in this game, factions? Nah, you get 3 races with some super simplified standing system that literrally changes nothing, since there's no reward system, nor alliance system. This game also tends to run, when it does, pretty terribly on machines way inside the recommended specs because of the caching system used to save the generated content on your system.
Not let's talk about the good things.
If you're really into exploration and mindless grinding this game is for you, since all you can do in this game is walk around, admire the cute randomly generated creatures, fly, gather resources to keep online the various components of your suit and ship, go in space and randomly get attacked by sky pirates (fun the first couple of times, but it becomes an annoyance later on), enjoy the view of giant planets all stacked together in close proximity defying all laws that command our universe. Don't buy this game looking for story, since there's none, and there's also no real answers to why you're there and why you do that.
