The community made itself known, and we managed to get Sony to back down from its obtuse policy on PSN account linking, so I am changing my review to positive to reflect the masterwork that this game is. Thank you Arrowhead! It's been a loooooong time since I've played a team co-op PvE game like this that feels as immersive and fun as HD2 is. I highly recommend this one!

Early Access Review
It's not often that I write reviews on Steam, so let it show that this game has motivated me to write this.

I will always support games that push the envelope. This game does just that, and on multiple levels.

The gameplay as a nightly broadcast editor is engaging, fun, and often challenging as you struggle to pick the most interesting camera angle, all while censoring expletives, keeping the signal free from interference, and putting out various other fires out while keeping the news at least somewhat coherent for the viewers.

It is through this gameplay that an increasingly interesting, and topically relevant story is revealed to you, which is reflected on decisions you've made in both the at-home interlude sections, and what you've chosen to broadcast out over the airwaves to a country in political turmoil.

The price of admission for this game is worth every penny, considering how novel the gameplay is. Every live news segment is shot in full motion video, and is acted out superbly, adding to the effectiveness of the story being told here.

I find it easy to recommend this game to anyone looking for something new, something relevant, and something that will make you think.

Well done, and cheers to the development team, Not Games.

Mount and Blade is a game series that I hold very close to my heart. Every castle raid and epic bandit battle in the forest stays in my memories as if I was actually there riding my horse into battle. Not many games can make that much of an impact on someone. I haven't even played this game as much as others. Games like LoZ: Ocarina of Time or TES: Oblivion/Skyrim where I poured days and days worth of hours into playing come to mind. The hours I put into Mount and Blade are but a fraction of these other games, yet I am equally as fond of M&B.

This game's combat system is one of the most immersive 1st person experiences I have ever had in a video game. It is so easy to get lost in the atmosphere of medieval warfare. An arrow hurdling through the air right past your air will make you flinch! You feel the weight of an iron-hewn axe pounding the face of your splintered wooden shield.

Consider playing this game, as it is revolutionary when it comes to hand to hand combat in the first person. For as dated as it is, there has yet to be another modern game in this genre that can hold a candle to this one.

Defiance is a pseudo-MMO 3rd person shooter that has opened my eyes to the world of free-to-play. I was inspired by a friend of mine to download and install this game. When he mentioned that it was free-to-play I sort of rolled my eyes and thought "Oh boy here is another pay-to-win travesty." I am here to tell that I could not have been more wrong. Throughout my gameplay I was pinching myself because how could this game be free?? It plays like a game you'd have to pay for! There is enough content here to keep even the hardest game grinders engaged for weeks.

Before I go and overhype this game, there are little reminders here and there in the game that remind me that I am playing this game for free. Things like server lag, chat issues and repetitive quest clones definitely take away from the overall experience, but then again, you have to ask...What do you want for nothing?

Despite its small issues, this game has an entire world of content and experiences for you to have; all of it is just a small download away. The weapon/armor loadout customization experience feels like it is a conservative version of the Borderlands games which fits perfectly with the gameplay experience and feels natural. While the game does have items that are purchasable via real world currency, in no way is it required to advance and become formidable within the game. A vast majority of the buyable items are available as drops in-game anyway.

Overall, Defiance is a perfect example of how to do FTP games right! Everytime I play this game I find myself actually wanting to spend a little money on a badass item, and I NEVER buy items in games, but Defiance has created a game that is so well done for no cost whatsoever that I am comfortable paying for things in a game that could totally get away with being $10-15 just to play!

This is one of the scariest games I have ever played. If you are squeamish when it comes to scary games, this is deeeefinitely not the game for you. That being said, and scary things aside, this game has a very gripping storyline and plays like reading a book if you let it. If immersion and lore are traits you like in a game, this game brings a lot to the table.

This game has the ability to make hours turn into minutes! While the gameplay is a little simpler than is predecessors, it still has the classic Civ "OK, just one more turn.....OK, just one more" feeling to it. Some people claim that this game is a dumbed down and less complicated version of its predecessors, but this isn't a bad thing! Civilization V keeps things straightforward and consise enough to be accessible to new players, but in depth enough to keep your inner control freak happy. Balance is key, and this game has it in spades.
